Not worth it to spend as much for shipping as the clematis costs.

I've ordered from Hummingbird Farm and been satisfied with my plants. They have grown well and bloomed the second year.

1 or 2 plants will cost 10.50 shipping, so you can find a second plant you like and half the cost of shipping per plant.

nhbabs: Thank you. I did check them last night.

One thing I realized is that I'm not comparing apples to apples when totaling the pricing with shipping. Some sellers only have small pots (3"?), others have medium (5.5") and if I remember correctly, Silver Star Vinery has gallon pots. I checked Watchdog and they have a good rating so I think this will be my choice.

I appreciate all the suggestions and have bookmarked them for future reference.

Don't know where you are located but if you are in the midwest and have HyVee grocery stores you might check there. I got Huldine from them last week, a big round pot, for $11.99. It has 6 mature thick, woody stems. Most of their clems have 2 to 4 stems...I just got lucky with this one.

My Huldine is looking mighty fine this year after I pruned it back hard this spring. She is 3 years old (I think) and has never had this many blooms. Bought her from Silver Star Vinery, the BEST place to buy clems on the web.

Tanya: Thanks for the pic. After Bluestone back ordered Huldine, I went to Silver Star Vinery and got one from her.
Very big root system. It is sitting in a pot with my other clems patiently waiting for me to finish the clem garden bed and get all the trellises in place.
