Is this UCL done right? x-post kitchens

Our kitchen reno is done. Kind of. The light valence that was installed, a visible gap is still present so we can see the ucl through it. It was already fixed once, but will need to be done again I believe. So while pondering this, I'm wondering if these ucl are installed correctly.
Is it normal to have the big plugs visible, or is this done incorrectly?
