I have ORB hardware throughout my place and opted for ORB knobs and plates.

My home is somewhat period and I wanted Art Deco style. I couldn't find anything I liked to I bought vintage Art Deco and had them replated.

I just finished my remodel so obviously I don't think ORB is on the way out - nor do I particularly care as I liked the way it looks with my copper elements. My place isn't a slavish recreation of a specific period as it is a bit of Deco, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts and Prairie.

FWIW, here's a photo of the doorknobs I had replated. They were originally brass I think although I also saw a lot of chrome Art Deco vintage ones but these seemed to work best in terms of size and style.

Color of door frame is much richer but flash bleached it out.

Thank you Sina Saddedin. A lot of the builders around here are moving away from ORB. I'm going to stick with my first choice :).

It can read "dated" to some people, but in a very traditional home it would be appropriate and go with the style.
