The kitchen addition connects with the rear green space and floods the room with natural light through large horizontally banded, counter height windows. Formaldehyde-free painted cabinetry with countertops made of resin coated recycled paper are easily maintained and environmentally sound.

Howells Architecture + Design
Designed for a 1930s Portland, OR home, this kitchen remodel aims for a clean, timeless sensibility without sacrificing the space to generic modernism. Cherry cabinets, Ice Stone countertops and Heath tile add texture and variation in an otherwise sleek, pared down design. A custom built-in bench works well for eat-in breakfasts. Period reproduction lighting, Deco pulls, and a custom formica table root the kitchen to the origins of the home.

Pappas Design
A classic cook’s kitchen that also provides kitchen dining with a direct connection to the patio and terrace gardens. In the new design, we added new windows, French doors and skylights to bring in more natural light while the mahogany island defines new work centers; two sink/water locations, high-performance equipment, and ample countertops for multiple cooks to use at one time. In a modern take that uses simple, classic components - we applied a mix of white, earth brown, and gray in porcelain tile, Cararra marble, painted cabinetry, butcher block and Cambria counter tops - to suggest grandmother’s old, French kitchen. Bon appetit! Photos by Rhea Pappas.

Simply Home Decorating
In this serene family home we worked in a palette of soft gray/blues and warm walnut wood tones that complimented the clients' collection of original South African artwork. We happily incorporated vintage items passed down from relatives and treasured family photos creating a very personal home where this family can relax and unwind. In the kitchen we consulted on the layout and finishes including cabinetry finish, tile floors, countertops, backsplash, furniture and accessories with stunning results. Rencraft Ltd
The starting point for this project was a stunning Edwardian family home; the finished result is anything but old-fashioned.
The ground floor extension on the house provided lots of natural light, allowing the use of a dark colour on the island to dramatic effect. This contrasts with the paler colour used on the cupboards around the walls.
The carcasses are made from engineered birch ply, with solid maple drawer boxes and custom-made cutlery dividers.
60mm Corian worktops lend a modern feel to this kitchen, along with Miele appliances and a down-draught extractor which hides away when not in use. A secret door, which you could be forgiven for thinking opens into a larder cupboard, actually provides access to a utility room.

miniki
miniki is the first kitchen system that transforms into an elevated sideboard after use. There is nothing there to betray the actual function of this piece of furniture. So the surprise is even greater when a fully functional kitchen is revealed after it’s opened. When miniki was designed, priority was given not only to an elegant form but above all to functionality and absolute practicality for everyday use. All the requirements of a kitchen are organized into the smallest of spaces. And space is often at a premium.
Different modules are available to match all individual requirements. These modules can be combined to suit all tastes and so provide the perfect kitchen for all purposes. There are kitchens for all requirements – from the mini-kitchen with just one sink and some storage room for small offices to kitchenettes with, for instance, a fridge and two cooking zones, or a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with the full range of functions. This makes miniki a flexible, versatile, multi-purpose kitchen system. Simple to assemble and with its numerous combination options, the modules can be adapted swiftly and easily to any kind of setting.
