The level of trim detail and color on this Victorian home accentuates and echoes the home’s accents throughout the landscape. Mauve colored bricks, grayish natural stone pavers and grey & pink boulders were selected to marry the landscape features of the house. A selection of tumbled clay bricks and reclaimed bluestone were used for the front walk, foyer space, driveway, patio, pond & waterfall, adding an aged look to the property.
In order to maintain a historic appearance to the site, great emphasis was placed on the preservation and care of two majestic Horsechestnut trees, three flowering Crabs and several mature groupings of Yews. There are a series of paths and sweeping panels of lawn installed to create inviting linkages through various spaces. Lastly, the crown jewel of the property is the waterfall, pond and its cottage garden plantings, which throughout the season provide a whimsical garden, with ever-changing sights and sounds.

This architectural project marries the charm of a French-style manor with the rustic elegance of country style design. Intrinsically luxurious, the project stands as a timeless testament to the allure of French history and craftsmanship, a tribute emphasized by the careful inclusion of historical French wood windows, an architectural feature that becomes the soul of the manor.

James McNeal Architecture and Design
With this project, the challenge was to create a large home suitable to the contemporary needs of the client without compromising the classic, historic integrity of the Edina neighborhood. With distinct references to colonial and shingle-style architecture, the final design marries a classical rigor with the vernacular overtones of a farmhouse.
Classical proportions and detailing formalize a serious yet playful arrangement of mass and form on the exterior. The white-on-white cladding calls to mind the fresh simplicity of a farmhouse, as does the long, breezy porch that stretches across the front facade. Though the site was not without its challenges, we took advantage of opportunities for a lower-level walkout and main-level rear walkout to bridge indoor and outdoor space.
The interior of this home combines the tasteful language of architectural tradition with a fresh and contemporary interpretation. The open, modern plan blurs the distinction between formal and informal. Classically inspired detailing, like the enameled ceiling beams extending from one room to the next, is used to unify space and assert a pronounced architectural order. The use of natural light is also crucial in this regard; windows are strategically positioned to pull light completely through the house
Dignified yet relaxed, this bright and comfortable family home is both modern and contextually appropriate in an established neighborhood known for its historical styles and traditional influence.
Miramar Kitchen and Bath
If we had to describe this kitchen in three words it would be: modern, clean and functional. The brittanica quartz kitchen marries beauty and function for a look and feel that is truly the best of both worlds.
Aranelli Design
Welcome to this modern kitchen, a perfect blend of organic charm and sleek elegance. The warm oak cabinetry brings a comforting, earthy element to the space, its natural grain adding depth and character. This is beautifully contrasted by the clean, minimalist aesthetics of the white lacquer surfaces. The handle-less design of the cabinetry enhances the sleek lines and smooth textures, emphasizing the kitchen's modern appeal. This oak and white lacquer kitchen marries warmth and modernity, creating a space that is as inviting as it is stylish.
Jamie House Design
In planning the design we used many existing home features in different ways throughout the home. Shiplap, while currently trendy, was a part of the original home so we saved portions of it to reuse in the new section to marry the old and new. We also reused several phone nooks in various areas, such as near the master bathtub. One of the priorities in planning the design was also to provide family friendly spaces for the young growing family. While neutrals were used throughout we used texture and blues to create flow from the front of the home all the way to the back.

One of our favourite things about summer is escaping to the beach, where time seems to slow down and we can enjoy this life’s meaningful things to the fullest.
To celebrate this Aussie summer feeling, we’ve created Coastal bathrooms and kitchens that will bring relaxed seaside vibes into your home all year round.
Soothing pastel colours, textural terrazzo and blonde timbers evoke the breathtaking beauty of nature. To accentuate this connection to Mother Nature, we included organic curves that add softness to the space for the ultimate beach retreat at home.
Our Coastal kitchens feature gorgeous terrazzo tiles accompanied by a stunning natural marble benchtop and island top. In addition, we utilised brushed nickel to add to the kitchen’s soft and soothing look.
To emulate nature’s organic forms, we’ve given the back of the island a fluted look, which we paired with a combination of timber laminate around the side for a modern take on the classic waterfall end. The beautiful thing about this island design is that you can gather around it facing each other, which creates a relaxed and inviting environment.
The island support features a soothing green colour that marries the inside of the ample pantry. The pantry is spacious enough to accommodate all your breakfast essentials, as well as for small appliances that can be tucked away when not in use.

Tweak Your Space
This project earned its name 'The Herringbone House' because of the reclaimed wood accents styled in the Herringbone pattern. This project was focused heavily on pattern and texture. The wife described her style as "beachy buddha" and the husband loved industrial pieces. We married the two styles together and used wood accents and texture to tie them seamlessly. You'll notice the living room features an amazing view of the water and this design concept plays perfectly into that zen vibe. We removed the tile and replaced it with beautiful hardwood floors to balance the rooms and avoid distraction. The owners of this home love Cuban art and funky pieces, so we constructed these built-ins to showcase their amazing collection.

Davonport Kitchen & Home
Davonport Holkham shaker-style cabinetry with exposed butt hinges was chosen for a classic look and its smaller proportions in this Victorian country kitchen. Hand painted in a beautiful light stone (Slate 11 – from Paint & Paper Library) and heritage green (Farrow & Ball’s studio green), the colour scheme provides the perfect canvas for the antique-effect brushed brass accessories. A traditional style white porcelain butler sink with brass taps is positioned in front of the large sash window, providing a stylish focal point when you enter the room. Then at the heart of the kitchen is a freestanding-style island (topped with the same white quartz worktop as the rest of the room). Designed with plenty of storage in the way of cupboards and drawers (as well as breakfast bar seating for 2), it acts as a prep table that is positioned in easy reach of the professional quality Miele induction hob and ovens. These elements help nod to the heritage of the classic country kitchen that would have originally been found in the property.
Out of the main cooking zone, but in close proximity to seating on the island, a breakfast cupboard/drinks cabinet houses all of Mr Edward’s coffee gadgets at worktop level. Above, several shelves finished with opulent mirrored glass and back-lit lights showcase the couples’ selection of fine cut glassware. This creates a real wow feature in the evening and can be seen from the couples’ large round walnut dining table which is positioned with views of the English-country garden. The overall style of the kitchen is classic, with a very welcoming and homely feel. It incorporates pieces of charming antique furniture with the clean lines of the hand painted Davonport cabinets marrying the old and the new.

Charleene's Houses, LLC
With private space at a premium in relatively narrow rowhomes, our client in Bolton Hill made the decision to transform their home’s third floor one-bedroom apartment into a private master ensuite retreat. Rustic elements including rough-hewn floating wood shelves, a cleverly- exposed distressed support stud, and dark rubbed bronze hardware on plumbing and lighting fixtures, storage hooks and built-in cabinets marry seamlessly with classic features such as fluted window casings with bullseye rosettes, oversized baseboards capped with coved base cap trim and 4-panel solid wood pockets doors. Perched on the black hexagon tile floor punctuated by white grout that picks up on the room’s light palettes, the gorgeous hammered copper soaking tub and uber-sleek Scandinavian style teak double vanity stand out as the biggest stars of this master bath build out.
Nomad Remodeling & Outdoors
In our recent guest bathroom remodel, luxury and style collide effortlessly. The main focal wall of the shower comes alive with striking vertical emerald green subway tiles, adding a vibrant and invigorating touch. Inside the shower, a convenient soap niche continues the tile motif. The centerpiece of the bathroom is a freestanding white porcelain tub, its elegance emphasized by a partial glass door enclosure with brushed gold fixtures and accents that lend an opulent feel to the space. The vanity area boasts a pristine white quartz countertop, providing a clean and inviting workspace. Completing the ambiance is a backlit mirror, casting a warm and inviting glow. This guest bathroom renovation effortlessly marries bold design elements with a sense of relaxation and sophistication.
