Designed to make the most of a steep site, this private home in Sydney’s south has created great spaces to enjoy the view of the water. The design features a covered main pavilion with a fully equipped kitchen including a sink, fridge and wood fire pizza oven. Designed for entertainment it also includes a large dining area, sunken spa and wall mounted TV. O the same level of the pavilion is a sunken fire pit area nestled underneath a large existing Frangipani. Travel down a set of steel stairs and you come to an inviting blue pool with wet edge spill over out to the bay. The curves of the pool and lower lawn area designed to add interest when viewing from above. A generous lounge and nearby pool pavilion provides plenty of places to relax by the pool and the cantilevered section of the pavilion, with feature timber panelling, ensures that there is shade poolside and look fantastic next to another mature Frangipani. The overall look and feel of the project is sleek and contemporary, with plants chosen to emphasise the shapes of the design and to add contrasting colours. This project is definitely a great place entertain and relax whilst enjoying the view of the water.

Inspiration for a contemporary gray floor and wood wall bedroom remodel in Mumbai with brown walls

This property has a wonderful juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements, which are unified by a natural planting scheme. Although the house is traditional, the client desired some contemporary elements, enabling us to introduce rusted steel fences and arbors, black granite for the barbeque counter, and black African slate for the main terrace. An existing brick retaining wall was saved and forms the backdrop for a long fountain with two stone water sources. Almost an acre in size, the property has several destinations. A winding set of steps takes the visitor up the hill to a redwood hot tub, set in a deck amongst walls and stone pillars, overlooking the property. Another winding path takes the visitor to the arbor at the end of the property, furnished with Emu chaises, with relaxing views back to the house, and easy access to the adjacent vegetable garden.

Shaker kitchen cabinets were painted in a deep green to highlight the brass hardware. Carrara marble worktops and reclaimed oak on the island complete the scheme for a bespoke individual finish.
Grecor
Grecor’s effort to create an ordinary terrace into a perfect evening place to enjoy drinks with your loved ones. The terrace has customised turf sofas, zen elements like pebbles and Buddha table and a rustic touch on the other side with a dark pergola with hanging elements and wicker furniture arranged in a beautiful way and a patina counter completing the whole concept. The Mahajans were very involved in selection of décor art and artifacts for their terrace garden. Together with Grecor’s design aesthetic of ‘Rustic Contemporary’, there was varied textural feel to surfaces adding to the look and feel of the terrace.
Vintage Cellars
This beautiful custom wine cellar / wine wall / wine room in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, California is truly a jaw dropper. Vintage Cellars, wine cellar builders out of san diego, california, were able to design and build this masterpiece as a major centerpoint of this dining room and kitchen.
A custom wine cellar designed and built by vintage wine cellars out of San Diego, California - this custom wine wall has tons of unique and noteworthy features throughout. The bottom of the cellar begins with multiple areas for wine case storage and other bulk storage options. The great thing about this space is that it was designed for multi-use capability, leaving ample room to store multiple layers deep of single bottle storage as well.
Directly above the case storage lie multiple layers of easy pull out shelving on smooth rolling tracks, seamlessly allowing for drawer sliding with no risk of bottle movement or abrupt stops. These are fantastic features to have, especially in the case of having flights of wines from your favorite wineries. A collection of 2010 through 2016 Larkmeade Cabernet Sauvignon bottles from Napa have never looked so good.
In the center, a small countertop and opening are used for a practical space to open and decant wines. Glass shelving features and acrylic wine racking dividers make for a fun, transparent, and sleek looking centerpiece.
On either side of this wine wall feature / kitchen wine cellar are long rows of high reveal display of wine bottles, carefully designed and engineered to lay down properly so that the cork will stay wet and wines are aged perfectly and gracefully over time. These display rows act as fantastic "show off" sections - perfectly highlighting each bottle's respective label and giving you the ability to really display your gems.
More sections sit above these displays, turning the bottles inward and facing them cork out. In this certain circumstance and with this specific client's collection, these sections really popped with color and intrigue with many cases of the same wines being placed into the racking. Intense hues of Red and Yellow POP, keeping this wine cellar interesting and a pleasure to look at no matter what section you're exploring.
Horizontal stainless steel metal rods are Integrated into the custom cabinetry horizontally and angled across each multiple sections, again offering another unique and different design feature, now with wine bottle labels facing outward and completely visible. This look in custom wine wall / custom wine cellar / custom wine room / custom wine display / custom wine storage solutions is a great way to integrate modern nuances into your cellar. Accents of metal into an otherwise "traditional" wooden wine cellar can actually add a unique change of pace and give an entire new breath of life to an existing wine storage space.
700 bottle capacity, with room for magnum storage above.

Through the entire design of this grand estate lot, the overall focus was to soften and scale the large house and expansive property while at the same time allowing the architecture and details to stand out. To complement the impressive scale of this estate, we chose simple mass plantings that would nicely frame the gorgeous architecture while not overpowering the home’s notable detail. Because the property already held substantial mature trees, we brought in additional large trees that would not be dwarfed by the home’s scale, the property’s scope or the existing vegetation. These plantings add visual interest without detracting from the home’s architecture. Working with the properties existing elements and homeowners’ lifestyle, in the backyard we designed a sprawling pool area that includes a wooden pergola, flagstone terrace and flagstone steps that lead to the various areas of the outdoor retreat. The consistent use of material visually ties together the upper terrace, sprawling pool area, cabana and tennis court, so they flow together while creating separate spaces visually and functionally. The grandeur of the house allowed us to create a large-scale patio without overpowering the home’s façade. Through terracing and plantings, the tennis court and pool area are visually joined despite the patio’s necessary wall and existing grade change. Finally, a rain garden was installed to collect and clean on-site runoff as well as beautify the back property line.

Our clients wanted a new, spacious kitchen in their late Victorian property and asked us to design a ground floor side return extension. In addition to the kitchen extension, the clients asked us to draw up plans for a loft conversion which would include a new master bedroom with an en suite.
Although the loft conversion was allowed under permitted development laws, full planning consent was needed for the kitchen extension. Lambeth is a notoriously tricky borough in which to secure planning consent, but with 20 years of experience working in the borough we secured planning approval for a side return extension.
The extension incorporates a strip of frameless glass which runs from floor to ceiling at a right angle to the side of the house, ensuring maximum light penetration at all times of day. Bi-fold folding doors open onto a large terrace from the dining area.
