Joe acted as GC on the second job and did a wonderful job keeping things moving, helping us get good decisions made in a timely fashion and working closely with all the trades to ensure the work was coordinated and of high quality. “Light House Design was the architecture firm I hired for a major house renovation involving knocking down interior walls, adding a four season porch, moving a bathroom, adding a deck and front entryway, as well as new windows, roof, exterior siding, and electrical system. They provided a thoughtful and attractive design in keeping with the style of the house. They listened to our goals and suggestions and often incorporated them in the drawings they created. When they disagreed, they explained why the suggestions were impossible or undesirable. Very attentive to detail, and cost conscious. They were also helpful in providing an objective viewpoint of the contractor's work”

“We have an 1863 house. John Lodge (working closely with Nick Beasley from Adams Beasley contractors) helped us to create an open, modern kitchen and family room (and an additional room in the basement) that have enough of a traditional style that it feels like it fits right in with the old house. I'm not much of a cook but now I want to cook. And all of my friends who are great cooks have kitchen envy! In fact we now spend most of our time in our kitchen/dining room; we used to go in there only when we needed to eat. John worked closely with us to come up with creative solutions for more usable and beautiful space. He worked collaboratively throughout with us, the contractor, and the sub-contractors. He listened to what we wanted and offered options for how to implement our visions. He is a joy to work with. And that's not an easy feat during/after a year long renovation project!”

“Michael was a joy to work with for our remodeling project. He was patient, responsive, and highly collaborative throughout the whole process. His creativity and design acumen helped us to solve some complex layout problems, and to connect the indoors and outdoors in an original and impressive way. In addition to the overall plan, he also designed smaller components that needed his knowledge and attention to detail, including a lighting scheme, shelving system, and custom outdoor furniture. He helped us to research unfamiliar building materials, and provided ample design ideas that we shared using an online file folder. The end result was a space that works beautifully for us and is superior in every way to what we had before. Michael's familiarity with the remodel process from soup to nuts made it possible for him to interface effectively with all the contractors, vendors, and specialists (such as the structural engineer that we needed). He made timely suggestions that improved their work and guided our choices as things unfolded.
