“We hired Velocipede because we were looking for a remodel of a tiny old Ballard house, and wanted to make it as sustainable as possible: we were looking for 4-star built green-level of performance, post-consumer waste materials in sourcing, support of a strong daily cycling family culture, a modern open space with a working kitchen/social space at its heart. Velocipede delivered and then some. We have lived in the new space for five years and are delighted with the way it expresses and eases our day-to-day life! Velocipede's design works really well and opened up the space like a breath of air. Throughout, Velocipede really showed that they "got" us. The firm was attentive, thoughtful, respectful of the limitations of our budget, and provided solid and considerate guidance to make trade-offs during construction. I can't recommend them strongly enough! “Miriam designed my kitchen back in 2005. I had just moved into a new condominium which had a pretty basic no frills kitchen. The challenge was the space is relatively small -- perhaps 200 or so square feet. She worked with me to come up with an efficient but professional kitchen that allows me to continue to explore my passion for cooking. She had great ideas, but was always anchored in trying to figure out my vision of what I wanted. The result is a kitchen that I still enjoy immensely, and that won a design award. In addition, she worked extremely well with the construction company, which was in fact a design build shop that had its own ideas about the design (they came into the project later). There was never any tension or competition between the two of them. I cannot recommend Miriam highly enough. If I were to do another remodel I would hire her in a heartbeat.”

We felt like he genuinely listened to our wants and needs while also providing helpful context and examples when they arose. “Andrew helped us file for an Alt-2 permit with the NYC DOB. He also helped us with our co-op board package. His services included initial consultation, measurements, architectural drawings, plumbing plan, statement of work being done, filing of permit (with an expeditor), permit pulling, and other certifications required by our board. Andrew was very responsive and flexible. He was able to set up an initial consultation within 24 hours. He came prepared and measured our apartment during the consultation. We executed the contract and the first payment was made shortly thereafter. Andrew has completed all of the work in his scope and has done an amazing job. Even during the renovation process, he went above and beyond his duties and continued checking in. Andrew has provided an A+ experience and we have already recommended him to a couple of friends. He's a class act and will respond very quickly in a professional and polite manner.”
