babienko ARCHITECTS pllc
Handicap-Accessible Design Companies in Vancouver
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 10, 2014
“After hearing countless horror stories about the remodel and construction process, I have to say that architect Jeff Babienko and his team at bARC have made the journey better than we could have ever imagined. His approach, vision, professionalism and attention to detail are nothing less than top notch. Babienko has a very thorough up-front exploration process that we thought a bit excessive, but discovered that it is this very process that allows him to steward the project with all the nuances of "feel", aesthetic and functionality that we were after with the remodel. While we forgot certain elements of what we wanted along the way, he and his team did not. It was amazing! The entire journey was a very collaborative, seamless and an entirely transparent process. His expertise as the interface with the construction team was invaluable and we can't imagine having done it any other way. We won't work with anyone else!”

“Minh Ta was introduced to us by our builder to help design out family home in Kitsilano Vancouver. We were using another architect for our previous home builds but was recommended Minh because he had extensive knowledge in home design and architecture for new Vancouver home builds. As you may or may not know, the building codes in Vancouver unique, difficult to understand and interpret into real life designs without incurring subjective review of the City of Vancouver. Rules are ever changing in Vancouver and having a competent and experienced architect is key to successfully submitting and passing a set of plans for your dream home in an efficiently timed manner. Our application process to final acceptance was almost exactly four months which had blown away previous estimates of year to year and half (advised to us by other friends who had build recently). The reason for this quick turnaround was due to Minhès knowledge and ability to create our dreams in a passable set of plans under the current building codes of the times. Minh is highly informative, helpful, a great listener and I would recommend him to anyone hoping to build their dream home.”

D3 Design

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 3, 2017
“No question, our house was a challenge. Kirsten and D3 were tasked with recreating plans for a 105-year-old house as no blueprints existed... the greater challenge, however, was the Heritage Revitalization Agreement with the City of New Westminster. Along with heritage specialist Elana Zysblat, Kirsten helped to save another house in the Queen's Park neighbourhood. Creative and thoughtful design to maximize space inside, and conservation-sensitive exterior modifications have resulted in a house that has one of the biggest - if not the biggest floor-space ratio in New Westminster. Neighbours have commented that aside from looking sharp and clean, the house generally looks the same from the street... exactly the goal that Kirsten, Elana and the City were trying to achieve. We are very pleased with Kirsten and her enthusiastic, patient and professional approach. When the work required to complete the heritage revitalization process exceeded the original budget, Kirsten put in many extra hours and did not charge us - and offered to perform any additional services at a reduced rate. This is the way to handle the unexpected... thank you, Kirsten! I would be happy to work with her again in the future. When the exterior painting is done, I will post photos...”

“Draft on Site provide property measuring, drafting and design services, along with other associated work such as Building Code reviews, municipal permit applications and problem solving, to the public and trade. As a design/build contractor and construction manager I have used their services on countless occasions to provide both my clients and myself with accurate, professionally drafted designs that will pass through City planning applications with no issues. Their attention to detail is extraordinary and as a client I benefit from their experience; often any problems in my designs will be flagged before they are put into a final draft.”

“This was a very challenging project due to the size.We were very pleased with the research done with materials and knowledge of new ideas. The company was very respectable of the budget provided, and often found various idea of how to complete projects. Preparation was always done before we tackled any new job with various choices which made it easier for us to make decisions. Also was able to work with different contractors sometimes at the same time and make the work "flow " accordingly.”

“LOVE LOVE LOVE this genius of an architect/designer. She works magic and makes it look seamless Lee truly is a creative genius and besides that, she is a ton of fun to work with as she works her magic.
