The team at Unfold Architecture were incredibly professional and a pleasure to work with from beginning to completion of our home plans. Unfold listened to what we envisioned and masterfully applied the aesthetic we were after. Both my husband and myself felt as though we were carefully listened to from the minute 'wish-list' item to all structural / construction elements. The team offered brilliant suggestions on how to make our home function the way we wanted it to and they took such high ownership in their work product ... almost as if it was their "own." They helped greatly in designing the home in the optimal location on our property to build in order to take in the views as well as the sunlight. We worked with Unfold remotely and the distance never affected any part of the process. Virtual meetings / communications were seamless. We never felt as though we were 'waiting' on an answer or a tweak - someone from the team was always available to us with any questions / thoughts / suggestions that we came up with. While building your 'forever' home can be stressful at times, the team at Unfold made the process fun and inspiring. Each member of the team was delightful to work with at every step in the design process and we couldn't be more in love with our home plans - nor could I speak any more highly of the entire Unfold Team and their overall ethos as a firm and as individuals.

We have had such an incredible time working with Mike and everyone at Unfold Architecture - starting from our initial vision/conceptual meeting to each iteration and refinement along the way. We always feel like part of the team - a collaborative effort between client and the experts. Mike and the Unfold team have been invested not just in the design/drawings/documents, but present at meetings such as tree removal, lighting, ground breaking, window and exterior selections, etc. It’s hard to believe we are breaking ground and looking forward to the shared vision coming to life!

Their ability to create a homey space and multiple entertainment spaces in a small home is incredible. They listen to what you want and make it a masterpiece. I have had the opportunity to work directly with Greg at Unfold. His creative eye and ability to also put the details on a plan set is really incredible. I own a design build company (Zenith Design + Build) and he has done some amazing design work that has really helped us in our ability to grow as a company. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars. It is very hard to find people that work as hard as he does and that have such a creative eye and also have the level of detail that he does. He has something special and if you choose to work with him and his team I promise you will have a great experience.

We just completed construction on our new home in the White Bear Lake, MN area. We had been looking for a tear down opportunity on a nearby lake for a couple years, and when a property presented itself, we quickly sprung into action. We have identified our builders in advance (Sustainable9) and based on our vision for the home, they introduced us to Unfold Architecture. Their previous projects, both out West and here in MN, fit the mountain modern/Minnesota modern style we were seeking. From the get go, the team at Unfold were amazing partners. Through conversations and inspiration photos we shared on Houzz, they took our long wish list (maximized lake views, lower level walkout, modern but welcoming, mid-century influences) and designed the perfect house. Their houses are striking architecturally but also extremely livable and functional. They use state of the art CAD models to help you envision what the home would look like. It’s remarkable how close the house turned out in respect to the early renderings. And throughout the process, they were collaborative partners, incorporating feedback from both us and our builders, presenting us initially with several options and then honing in on our chosen design. We could not be more pleased with the process (even in the midst of Covid challenges) or the end result, which is truly the dream home we envisioned.
