Hebert Design Build
Workshop Design & Construction Companies in Providence
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 30, 2013
“kitchen renovation and following an additional deck and mud room. The project was done within the agreed timeframe and within the budget necessary to make the project viable. At the end of each work day, the contractor cleaned up all the debris and tools making it very easy to tolerate the construction phase.”

“I have a small home that was built in 1940. The space was very blocked off (separate living spaces divided by walls with doors.) I wanted to have an open kitchen/dining room and living room and wanted to be able to use my space more efficiently. Also, my chimney and oven were in the middle of the space and I wanted to keep them in the same spot to avoid a complicated (and potentially costly) relocation of gas lines and flue/gas ventilation. I felt like I needed the help of designer to reconfigure the space. I was impressed with the one stop shop approach that Honeycomb Design Build had to offer. I had heard great things about Resa from a friend who worked with her on a commercial construction project. The design they came up with was awesome, and something I would never have thought of on my own. The fireplace and stove/oven turned out to be the coolest part of the layout. Dave and his team constructed seamless floating shelves that wrap around the chimney creating a great focal point. The combination of wood, brick, stainless steel and variations of teal make it a dream space for me. I was nervous about doing a renovation after hearing horror stories from friends and family about bad contractors. But my experience Honeycomb Design Build turned out great! I would definitely recommend Honeycomb Design Build.”

“I have worked with Red House and was very impressed with the level of craftsmanship taken on the project we were on. These guys are top notch and I would recommend them to any of my clients when asked. The owner Justin is great to work with, very professional and respectful., very easy to talk to. I don't normally take the time to write these reviews but this is one company I feel deserves my time.”

“MGZ Designer, Michael Gelb, and his partner builder, Michael Zayac, turned our 100 year old house into a luxury living space. MGZ offers design and construction with a high degree of professionalism. Everyone on the team was most talented and friendly. Complete construction documents were provided and on-going consultations to assure our satisfaction. The attention to detail, the consideration of our budget, the prompt response to our inquiries all contributed to a very positive experience during a long renovation. We are very satisfied customers in our extremely functional and beautiful new old house. We recommend this company without reservation.”
Beasley Woodworks LLC

“Absolute masters of their craft is the only way to describe the team at Beasley Woodworks. My wife and I bought a turn of the century Victorian cottage with clean lines in the beautiful seaside town of Narragansett, RI. It needed a lot of work, and we really wanted to transform it from a simple Victorian to a more classic, shingle-style home. But we saw so many beautiful old homes ruined by renovations that missed the mark, and we were apprehensive at best. We could not have made a wiser choice for this critical renovation. Our home is a showpiece. Everyone just assumes that it is an original shingle-style design from 1890. From his original sketchup (yeah, these guys crank out google sketchups as concepts) to the final product, we were promised thoughtful design and quality work. We got both and then some.”
Arkins Construction Inc.

“We could not recommend Arkins Construction more highly! Our project included salvaging parts of our old home to re-purpose into our new house. Arkins was with us every step of the way. From their subs to their crew they were professional. hard working, courteous, timely, and enjoyable to work with. They were exceptional at communicating with us throughout the process, primarily by e-mail and often by on-site meetings. When various construction options would arise they would often illustrate the choice by a picture or diagram attached to an e-mail, which made the decision much easier for us. We were happy start to finish and the result was a beautiful home that we will enjoy for many years to come.”

“Paul Dobler remodeled a 1980’s house in Colorado for us. It was originally built with radiant heat along the center beam of the house, so all of the rooms had walls up to the door headers and no ceilings! He raised the walls up to the open beam roof, tore down and resized 2 bedrooms with pocket doors in the closets and transom windows above the doors. He moved the front wall of the house out 8 feet to expand the living room. Paul also designed a 20 x 20 sun room addition with Structural Insulated Panels. He installed 4” aluminum air tubes embedded in the concrete floor that move air warmed by the tile floor in this south-facing room through the crawl space and connect to the existing heat ducts for added solar gain. He installed an amazing Nanowall 6-panel glass folding door that opens onto a deck that surrounds the room on 3 sides. The sun room is connected to the existing building with glass pocket doors. Paul is an expert at hanging doors. The sun room addition has an upper covered deck accessed by a custom metal stairway. Paul suggested the upper deck to add some outdoor living space and to make the most of the view of Mesa Verde and the LaPlata Mountains. Paul also removed the damaged concrete walkway along the driveway and had new concrete poured on all 4 sides of the house. He designed a new front entry and a back mud room. The finishing touch was stucco on the outside in a Southwest style. Throughout the design process Paul worked diligently to incorporate every detail that was important to us. He used a program integrated with Google Earth that let us “walk through” the house at different times of the day and year. Having him on-site working with the building crew and overseeing the subcontractors was invaluable. He met the challenge of a 50-mile drive to Home Depot and a delivery schedule of “sometime next week” from the local hardware store. We’re very pleased with Paul’s work on our home and would hire him again without hesitation.”
