“When you decide to build a new home/addition it can be out right intimidating with getting permits and all the decisions to be made. My husband and I decided to build a small home on our property for my parents and started taking on the daunting task of getting permits ourselves. We finally realized it was time to get help and find a contractor. We found Frank and Riki through other reviews and had an amazing experience from the very first meeting. They are a great team and were able to move the permitting process along quickly and with more ease than us alone. The workers they hired were respectful of our property and did an amazing job. Frank is very knowledgeable about his field and Riki keeps things on track and helped us so much with the interior of the home. They kept in contact every step of the way and made an experience that started out miserable much more enjoyable as it should be when building a place you will call home. I can not say enough good thing about these 2. If your looking for a contractor look no further!”

“Clark Johnson and Apex Mt Homes were selected by my wife and me from many contractors we knew in the area. Clark has done over 100 projects in the area and we loved the mountain look and the attention to detail as well energy saving methods Clark uses. In addition he brought us very innovative building methods, including Revit and pre-cut framing, yet still totally custom design that saved us 10's of thousands of dollars. The process was fun and creative. What we liked was a home that was grander, warmer in feel, and repeatedly receives comments from guests who say great things about the beauty, livability, great layout, and attention to mountain views. We also particularly appreciated the transparent budgeting and expense tracking system that kept our tension level very low. We moved in a month early, below budget. We would gladly build with Clark and his team again. We also found that the relationship was oriented primarily on what we wanted. The team repeatedly showed great ability at creatively getting us unique solutions and attributes that we wanted without breaking the budget.”

“Spirit Builders converted our old, outdated cabin on the Blue River into a completely updated mountain modern home our family loves. It was a 3 br 1 bath single family home whose entire interior needed a complete remodel, including all new plumbing, a new bath added upstairs, and laundry added downstairs. Jon is detailed, accountable, and creative - an impressive combination. He values quality and has a great network of suppliers in the area. Lastly, he was accurate about budget and timing. “Tom Elliott's crew did a fantastic job on finishing our log home! They showed up as scheduled and went right to work. Each member of the crew went right to work on their specific job. Blasting, sanding and finish work were all completed in a little over 2 weeks. Oil base finish was applied in 2 separate coats with a day or so in between each coat. Generously applied and brushed in, it transformed our house into a work of art. Glossy shine and beautiful look! I only wish I had heard of Tom and his company earlier. It would have saved a lot of hassle with an inferior finisher and product. Now our home is shining beautiful and will be so for years to come. Many thanks to Tom and the boyz that were here doing the job. A very professional and hard working, knowledgeable crew. They explained every step of their work and helped me understand the process of refinishing logs. I highly recommend Tom's company. His rates are very reasonable and the quality of work incredible.”

“Mr. August DeLarue was the construction supervisor when my house was built in Salida in 2010. The house was constructed in one of the nicer neighborhoods in Salida. I was interested in a house that was close to net-zero source energy, which required modifications to the original design. I engineered the changes for lower energy consumption, and for solar energy collection, but meeting the goals required very careful attention to detail, like sealing every penetration of pipes or wiring not only from inside to outside, but also through every stud in the structure. Further, the exterior studs were sealed where the OSB meets the studs. This sealing results in low air leakage as measured by blower door tests. Mr. DeLarue worked with the subcontractors to make sure this work was done carefully and completely. Mr. DeLarue was a pleasure to work with throughout the construction process, and the attention to detail and house energy performance exceeded expectations.
