“Like many families in our Upper Arlington neighborhood, we decided to build an addition and update our home instead of move. We had an idea of what we wanted, but thinking of the design details for a new project was overwhelming. Luckily, Megan at Cedar Grove Design & Co. came highly recommended to us. We immediately felt comfortable with Megan and confident that she understood what we were looking for. We were blown away during the design presentation. Every detail that we had mentioned was shown in a way that was better than we could have envisioned. We appreciated not having to make decisions on the fly or sign change orders during construction because of design changes. We had a plan that we were excited about and committed to, which made the process so much more enjoyable. Megan was in contact with us throughout our project to ensure we achieved our vision. “I wanted to update my kitchen with more granite and tile work and to also turn a sunroom, which was attached to our master bedroom, into a closet. interviewed several construction companies, but was most impressed with the work done by J Kern Design as well as the very personal touch from the owner, Jeannine Kerns. I explained to her what I had envisioned but was not sure if it would work. Jeannine made some suggestions, drew up a plan and I could not wait for the work to begin. She gave me a time frame and stuck with it. She organized everything from material purchases to managing the subcontractors. Highly organized, excellent communication every step of the way, and we could not be more pleased with our closet and kitchen.”

“Wayne is awesome! We first worked with Wayne a few years ago when we needed just a few items for our house. Recently we purchased a much larger home and Wayne was one of the first calls we made. He has been so patient with us as we made decisions on furnishings for multiple rooms. We purchased a dining room table, chairs, buffet and chandelier, bed, nightstands and dressers, sectional sofa, rug, desk, coffee table and artwork. He also assisted with paint recommendations and helped with ideas for other rooms where we were not purchasing furniture including our son's bedroom, and a screened in porch. He always took the time to answer all our questions and listen to our ideas as our thoughts on our approach for the home evolved. I also appreciated how he sometimes would question us on our likes and dislikes which I believe helped us make better design decisions. He made the design process fun and I would recommend him without hesitation. And, not only is he a great designer, he knows how to take care of his customers. He took a much needed vacation during our planning stage and he made sure someone else in the store was available to help us. We look forward to continuing to work with Wayne.”
