“No 2nd quote! Yes! I signed my first ADU contract with DH! Either Sam and his team are too good, or I am too blind trusting, and so far, I think it is the former. Sam took me to work sites, and had me meeting designer Shon, on phone with his manager, Idan. The team works very well together. I like that. Sam has the ability to remove all the doubts and questions I have, and he is a creative problem solver I did not mark a 5 star because we just started. Sometimes, Joey don't reply my text right away, I understand that everybody is busy, and I don't immediately reply everything either, and on issues gating the progress, Sam is very responsive. All in all, things look good.”

“We love our new bathroom! It turned out exactly as we had hoped and planned, and we wouldn't change a thing. All thanks go to Blues Brothers Construction, and especially to Onn. We've done several remodels and this was the most fun and satisfying. Like the other remodels, there were problems and mistakes to be dealt with along the way. The difference with this company is how they handled the issues. In every case, they listened to our concerns without defensiveness and insisted on doing it correctly without shortcuts. Several times, I indicated I would be satisfied with a less expensive workaround, but Onn assigned someone immediately to do it right or even worked the issue himself. This often resulted in something better than we had originally envisioned. The employees and independent contractors were all very pleasant to work with. The tile installer was especially skilled at his craft and went above and beyond in making sure the tile went in perfectly. In a few cases, the installers were not very familiar with the products they were installing, but they were very receptive to our suggestions or pointing out where something was going off track, so everything turned out great in the end. Onn has set up very effective processes for his company. Communication was excellent and the employees and contractors were all aware of the schedule, daily tasks and routines, and the design plan. All the employees were very engaged and seemed to like and respect their employer. Onn's plans were very detailed and made it very easy to iterate on the design and track the construction progress. The professionalism of their process was similar to much larger, more expensive firms but, instead of resulting in increased costs like the others, we think it improved their efficiency and held down costs. As they stated, They are not the cheapest or most expensive contractor, and we found that to be true. The quote was very fair but what set them apart is that the estimate didn't change at all through the design process except for some very small additions that we clearly added. And the same price and schedule held through the entire project, again except for a few small changes we requested. Onn suggested several design tweaks that all improved the final product but all were no cost items and or very minor charges where they clearly needed to order more expensive materials. This was a vastly different experience from other contractors who promised a range of cost but grossly inflated the price after detailing the design even though nothing changed. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blues Brothers Construction for any home remodel and will gladly go to them again for our future needs.”

“After interviewing 12 contractors, we hired Case Remodeling to do what turned out to be a whole-house remodel. They re-designed and re-configured our kitchen, updated our fireplace and family room (it was added to 77 Ideabooks here on Houzz - too cool!), pull and replace our bathrooms, replace our flooring, and remove our popcorn ceilings. I have to say that I was impressed by them from the get-go. They listened to everything we had to say, as opposed to some contractors who brushed off our ideas. They realized that we weren't made of money, so there had to be a budget, where other contractors simply asked us to "trust them." They took our basic ideas and made them SO MUCH better. The designer we had gave us great options in the design. We worked with the designer and took the pieces we liked from each of her proposed designs to make the final design one that we totally loved. Our kitchen is a delight to be in, it has room for at least 15 people to dine, and many more to congregate and munch. Our family room is a warm and inviting room where we spend lots of time. We had ample input in to the design, and we were absolutely thrilled with the results. I truly appreciated that when we worked with Case, their designers, and their employees, they were incredibly knowledgeable, and they were honest. We didn't get a lot of "well...maybe..." talk, we got straightforward answers and reasonable estimates, regarding both time and money. They were realistic about what could and what couldn't be done, they were realistic about time frames and availability, and they didn't disappoint us. We'd recommend them - any time. Seriously.”

“We have been working with Sami, Shon and Tom for over 2 years in around the Bay Area. As an architectural design professional, I really enjoy completing projects after projects with them. They are easy to work with, very responsive, honest, and they care about the home owners' budget, time and expectations. Construction is always a heavy task. But Sami and his team make it easier for everyone, including me as a designer. Their team keeps the progress updated and provides all the roles enough information in time for decision making. They do have the experience to deliver a quality service. And from the design point of view, Sami is experienced and can provide really good solutions and material suggestions. In a project, his fast feedback allowed us to change the operable skylights to a better size to save some money for the client. “Renovation of kids' bathroom: 4 week | $20K; Layout: same House style: Tudor (5 bedrooms; 3.5 baths) Design: all new Groehl hardware with satin nickel, granite countertop, 2 undermounted Kolher sinks, Toto toilet, subway tiles in shower/bath with blue/gray grout and blue/gray floor tiles, new Panasonic LED light & fan on timer. This bathroom had the 80s decor with wall-to-wall pink tiles & matching pink fixtures & gold hardware. After 8-years of living with the eye sour, a recent toilet problem and ongoing poor ventilation, it was time to rip out the old and update. Being a management consultant, I'm juggling deadlines, costs, options and people all the time. Jesse & his team worked well with this mindset and my wishes. When we hired Jesse among the 4 we interviewed, he knew we were ready for this project when he saw all the fixtures, hardware, flooring and tiles were already waiting for him in the garage. Jesse wasn't part of my design process, but he gave great input & options when I needed to make timely decisions like tile work, venting & counter fabrication. What I enjoyed about working with Jesse was his communications & planning. He worked with all medium: text, email & phone. He & crew responded quickly. Before the project started, Jesse gave me a timeline which I incorporated into my calendar. For each week, I knew the progression and what tasks I needed to complete to keep the team moving ahead. The project was finished on time. My next project is the master bath. It's got a strange layout. We hope to incorporate a walk-in closet from our bedroom which we don't have. I look forward to working with Jesse on this one and I will definitely need his design skills.”

The main contractor, Gerardo, first came out to view the studio to provide us an accurate estimate for the job, Afterwards, they followed up via email with a detailed estimate. Vanessa and Gerardo are professional, quick to respond and knowledgable about the remodeling business. Gerardo's crew was available to complete the project around the new years holiday. They installed sheetrock and trim before painting the studio. In addition, they installed engineered hardwood flooring. The team cleaned up the work site meticulously as well.
