“Nothing but praise for Helman Sechrist Architecture: we are in a home we couldn’t even dream of (better than a ‘dream home’) - designed by Helman Sechrist! We had a design challenge - leaving behind two homes that we loved, and combining into 1 new home that would accommodate my family (husband and 3 kids) and my mom, ensuring space for everyone and universal accessibility. We looked at a few homes in our area, then we spent months looking at plans, and realized that nothing pre-drawn was going to work for our family. From my first conversation with Jeff Helman, I was confident that he understood our unique situation - he agreed that we would need to start from scratch. I realize now that this is how they design all their homes - designing spaces around the needs and wants of their clients, spaces that function perfectly and are beautiful! The journey was amazing - their process ensures they are aware of all the functions you want to accomplish in your home - before any plans are drawn. We met extensively with Jeff and Brad (Sechrist), they were alway patient and a pleasure to work with even when we were not at our best - ( imagine how hard a project is to coordinate between two people - then add a mom / mother-in-law to that mix). The staff at Helman Sechrist was there for us throughout the project - They helped us with the bidding process, helped us pick the right builder, made sure that the house was on the lot where it should be, and even talked us through the inevitable rough spots. I cannot express how much we love our new space, how perfectly it is working for us. The spaces that we are living in are just the right size, very spacious - but still cozy; never cavernous or cold. If you want a house that fits your family and your needs - not a house that you have to fit into - Helman Sechrist is well worth the investment.”

“My husband and I hired Ben Greenberg, owner of Maru-Arch for a possible renovation of our kitchen, master bath, and an addition of a full bath for a child's bedroom. We had never worked with an architect before, and were unsure how the process works. However, we were immediately calmed by his website's thorough explanation of what to expect when hiring an architect, and upon meeting him we knew that Ben understood our vision. We met with Maru-Arch (Ben Greenberg) several times throughout the planning stages of the design, discussing everything from budget, to layout, to personal style. He was honest in what could practically be implemented and what might be a budgetary concern, and was helpful in suggesting alternative solutions if the current design conflicted with the existing house and budgetary limits. The best thing I can say about our experience with Ben, is his responsiveness. Any time I sent an email asking for a change to the design, or a question about layout, I was emailed back within the day.. sometimes even the hour. I always felt like he understood how important the project was to us. Ben was upfront about the cost of the different phases of the project, starting with his fees and the services he provides. For our project we met several times, went through many stages of drawings with revisions, and ultimately submitted his drawings to local contractors who submitted bids for the job. Because of the thorough experience in hiring an architect, we were able to see the pros and cons of renovating vs moving into another house.. and ultimately we decided to move, instead. But without the help of working with Ben and seeing the real cost of a renovation, we would have never known the best choice for our family. And if we ever want to renovate another House, the first person we would call, would be Maru-Arch. No matter how big or small of a project, he will understand your vision and will work tirelessly until the dream you saw in your mind is staring back at you in the form of an architectural drawing.”

“We have used Roberta for over ten years. She designed office layouts and found appropriate furniture for my business office. She has done many things in my home. We usually have a project every year. We are always happy with her work. She has great expertise in everything from colors fabrics, hard surfaces, window treatments, furniture and placement. “Karen was engaged to help plan and organize the great room of our new home. The room was larger than our previous living room, a different shape, and a complete different color scheme than we had. She helped with deciding which pieces of our current furniture would work, suggested pieces we might want to purchase (and offering suggestions of where we might shop), the layout of the room for best functionality and how to dress the walls. Karen’s warm and calm personality makes working with her very pleasurable. She asks clients to complete a form so she can learn their style, desired uses of rooms, etc. She carefully listens to her clients and then helps plan their spaces to best fit them. She willing works with her clients’ circumstances, acknowledging that sometimes they are not in a position to complete the design plan all at once. She offers several levels of service so clients are able to select what is right for them. Karen uses a wide variety of tools/sources to help her clients determine what they. She offers visual suggestions to help clients see possibilities. She does not push her own personal preferences, instead makes suggestions and moves forward based on her client’s likes and dislikes. She helped me think outside the box. Overall the experience has been very good and I look forward to the day when I have the entire plan in place in the not too distance future.
