He was a wonderful hybridizer and will be missed. His Moonlight Orchid is one of my favorite dl's. I also grow and love KML as well as Caribbean Angel Dust (beautiful double lavender), Golden Galleon (a huge beautiful yellow),
Double Cranberry Ruffles (love this dbl) and Happy Hooligan (a different one!)

Oh no, how very sad. You're right, he will be missed....I well remember his catalogs, which were a hoot. And I had some wonderful phone chats with him. I don't grow many of his plants; at this point, only MOONLIT ORCHID, and yes it is just totally lovely.

I agree, sad to hear of his passing. His 'Caribbean Frank League' is still the most black daylily I have seen and I too think 'Double Cranberry Ruffles' is great. He produced some great daylilies. He will be missed.

What will happen with his website?

I do not know what will happen to his website or his daylily business. His daughter may take it over but I am just guessing that.

Oh no...:( I was just searching for some of his daylilies and came across the sad news, it's a big loss for the daylily community. :( He will be sorely missed!

Sad news. My sympathy for his family and friends. I am glad that I grow some of his daylilies!!

Pandora's Box was one of my first daylilies before I got "into" daylilies. It has not been replaced with anything newer or fancier. It does what a daylily ought to do in the landscape - put on a real show with little to no fussing. I didn't know who hybridized it, but am so sorry that Mr. Talbot has passed on. A gain for Heaven but a loss to his family and daylily lovers everywhere..........Maryl
