why not do a tower that sets on the counter, but doesn't come too far out? I have never seen an upper cabinet (looks like a kitchen cabinet) installed on the ceiling over a vanity! looks funky w/the space under it. if you did the tower, you could do each space w/mirrors or Or, do one sink and have a large storage cabinet on one end. you could do a larger sink.

@Patricia Colwell Don't care much about dated -- i don't like straight across subway tile and am also budget conscious I guess it would be more like the first pic (i guess not 100% herringbone) than the second with a 3x6 tile. I do love the second pic though.

yes. it's too boring. and safe. especially for a beach house. and for me. for others, maybe not. If you're living there and don't plan to sell, do what you like. If you're renting, or BB or selling, something with some life and color goes a long way. if you want white, then do a nice white beachy glass tile. I like this one from Oceanside Tile. comes in 3 diff finishes, and other colors too. (and diff shapes and mosaics. you could do a niche or a vanity backsplash in one of those mosaic designs, just to give it some punch. that tile, with maybe a marble mosaic tile floor, and something like this, is perfectly minimal beach. Still white, but a lot better looking than 3x6 subway tiles (which really don't belong at a beach house. not that size and style) maybe do more of a boho type of tile. these are similar to Cloe Tile still white, but not the dreaded 3x6 subways! and you can always punch it up w/the floor tile. you can still do minimal, but man, put some color or life in there! if you want all white, bring in wood elements and greenery to keep it from looking like an OR. and black and white,,,always acceptable!

@Keepthefaith MIGirl that is a really cool looking fan! We decided to go with a chandelier in the family room, but it's wired for a fan should we choose to switch over to one. This is the chandelier we went with https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/gracie-oaks-alfret-20-light-candle-style-wagon-wheel-chandelier-w002491977.html?piid=

It's a rainy wet day here, we went up to drop off some shrubs for the landscapers to install. The guys were inside working on a coat of poly on the rails and stair treads, so we only walked the main floor. We are at the mercy of the weather gods so the landscaping can get completed. Hardwoods in the family room against the back wall of windows Planks laid out in the master bedroom, ready to be nailed down Tub is installed in the master bath and the shower glass is installed Rails and screens are up on the porch. We're pleased that the screen doesn't block much light at all
