In our area growing Hostas are challenging and very high maintenance. Most folks I know in the piney woods region of SE Texas don't bother. We have plenty of natives that handle droughts, heat and sudden freezes overnight better than hostas.

I love, love, love hostas! But I'm trying to go native. Such a dilemma.

I love hostas. I put them in containers because of large tree roots.
