I have to gut a really horrible nonfunctional kitchen on a slim budget and can't afford upper cabinets right away. Shelving might be a short-term answer.

I'm designing my small kitchen both with all shelves and with a combo. of a shelf and wall cabinets. So, if I don't like all the shelves, I'll be able to put cabs in their place. Done!
