Shere Kitchens
The Oak Timbers Kitchen was tailor made to suit a kitchen extension project for our clients 'forever home' in the borough of Reigate & Banstead.
Having renovated numerous properties our clients were clear about the functionality and feel of the heart of their new home...they wanted it to be a 'conversation kitchen' - somewhere where they could prepare meals but also hang out and chat.
The design incorporated a large gable window flooding the kitchen with natural light and warmth. The popular 'U' shape layout was used with Shaker style cabinetry combined with a wall of more individual furniture pieces including;
a glazed cupboard for special glassware
a spacious larder cupboard with integrated fridge freezer
a bank of oak cabinetry with ovens and deep pan drawers
a dresser unit with open shelving close to the family dinning table
The bespoke Oak breakfast bar was high on the wish list - somewhere lovely to sit together for morning coffee & to help prep food. The oak is gently curved, tactile and naturally so pretty.
Oversized cutlery and utensil drawers, the Quooker boiling-water tap, wine fridge, quartz worktop and simple knobs finish off this family kitchen beautifully.

Minimalist contemporary designer big ceramic/clay pendant light 'Naaya Garlic Bud' is best for Foyer, Study, Dining, Kitchen island. It is inspired by organic form. Although most shapes, in their first look, seem naturally round and smooth, each of them holds a surprise design element that differentiates it from what would easily be possible on a pottery wheel. Characterized by subtle bend, mismatching halves, quarter splits, blending creases and other design elements that you will find in places that you expect least. Welcome home to some of the most refined forms of design that is at the edge of minimalism and finesse ! At the first sight, a conventional shape of lamp, take a closer look, and you see a gradually deviating circle at every quarter in the lower end blending back to a perfect circle on the top. A blend of old school design with wisp of modern minimalism, for the connoisseurs of conventional forms with a touch of never ending subtlety of surprises.

This beautiful modern home is particularly special to the team at Boss Builders who collaborated with Archaeo Architects throughout the project. The result is a modern showpiece with exquisite details and finishes. The home’s spine connects multiple structures that compose the home. On the east side of the spine are the garage, entry and three ensuite guestrooms; to the west are the kitchen, great room and den.
The individual living spaces are connected by a bright, sloping ramp mirroring the natural topography of the ridge. This contemporary home captures beautiful natural views and the clerestory windows bring in the radiant, New Mexico light. The Property Sisters
This is a small kitchen we designed and executed for a very unique individual. He has a love for nature, but has traditional taste. Rather than go with the obvious choices of stone, slate, travertine, Marilynn chose this dramatic wood look tile by Emser and brought it all the way to the ceiling to give the illusion of taller ceilings and a larger kitchen. Allison added to that illusion by removing a dropped light box and creating a coffered ceiling. The dramatic wine color (DEA 145 Wine Stain) on the lower cabinets brought out the plum in the granite counters and antique brass knobs (Lowes) added class. The dark accent craterlake tile (Home depot) floors and lower cabinets were balanced by the white upper cabinets (DEW 340 Whisper) and soft sage green paint (DE 6241 Lunar Landing) on the walls and coffered ceiling.

River Homes
Civic, Pedestrian, and Personal Scale
Our urban design strategy to create a modern, traditional neighborhood centered around three distinct yet connected levels of scale – civic, pedestrian, and personal.
The civic connection with the city, the Milwaukee River and the adjacent Kilbourn Park was addressed via the main thoroughfare, street extensions and the River Walk. The relationship to pedestrian scale was achieved by fronting each building to its corresponding street or river edge. Utilizing elevated entries and main living levels provides a non-intimidating distinction between public and private. The open, loft-like qualities of each individual living unit, coupled with the historical context of the tract supports the personal scale of the design.
The Beerline “mini-block” – patterned after a typical city block - is configured to allow for each individual building to address its respective street or river edge while creating an internal alley or “auto court”. The river-facing units, each with four levels of living space, incorporate rooftop garden terraces which serve as natural, sunlit pavilions in an urban setting.
In an effort to integrate our typical urban neighborhood with the context of an industrial corridor, we relied upon thoughtful connections to materials such as brick, stucco, and fine woods, thus creating a feeling of refined elegance in balance with the “sculpture” of the historic warehouses across the Milwaukee River.
Urban Diversity
The Beerline River Homes provide a walkable connection to the city, the beautiful Milwaukee River, and the surrounding environs. The diversity of these custom homes is evident not only in the unique association of the units to the specific “edges” each one addresses, but also in the diverse range of pricing from the accessible to the high-end. This project has elevated a typically developer-driven market into a striking urban design product.

BAHIA is also convincing in terms of the overall appearance of the surface itself: the grooves are arranged asymmetrically and feature a sophisticated black finish, creating an exciting, vibrant, and contemporary look. The fanning out of the grooves is individually defined for each front width to create a harmonious transition between the individual furniture surfaces. The veneer selection is deliberately oriented towards dark-stained woods and is thus a perfect match for the black grooves and wooden edges. The resulting slight difference, in contrast, underlines the elegance of BAHIA on the one hand and defines the exclusion of light wood on the other.
Handmade Kitchen Co
We give you a warm welcome to this delightful location in Sandy, where the property was built in 1976 to an individual design. What you will see is a well-proportioned room with high ceilings which is the perfect place for a handmade kitchen! Our clients also commissioned a sleek new extension that artfully blended the old with the new and was designed to forge a stronger connection to the outdoors with floor-to-ceiling windows on either side and a glass roof.
Since our lovely clients moved into their forever home, the last year has been non-stop with the renovation works and each room has been designed with love and attention to detail. Before moving in, the property was neglected and needed some TLC. Fast forward to a year in the making, this property is now our client’s dream family home. We worked with interior designer Rita at Black Square Interiors on this project.
When it came to the kitchen style, the couple set their hearts on our Traditional shaker with a raised panel. It’s such a beautiful design concept and even more so when seen in a room of this size.
Ourselves and our client have well and truly embraced the current penchant for pink in this stunning space and, upon walking into this room, your eyes will turn immediately to the gentle dusky pink island. This delicate pink is Light Peachblossom by Little Greene.
Flint by Little Greene is the complementing paint choice in this colour scheme. This sophisticated warm white is a pure mineral, beautiful in kitchens and combines with many hues on the colour spectrum.
Another one of our projects bringing you Neff’s latest design. What other exciting features could we bring to the space? It’s the new colourway, Graphite-Grey by Neff.
Although the island is a fascinating feature the square bay window is truly breathtaking. Flush windowsills are a lovely detail you don’t often see, but when our client saw this in one of our previous projects it blew their mind. They thought about how else they could bring natural light into this large space and we came up with the idea to seamlessly run the worktop through to the window ledge. This room was originally quite dull so adding areas that can bring in natural light is a winner for all.
Designer Kitchen by Morgan
We were instructed to refurbish an existing kitchen and specifically asked for a design that would be airy and modern to include some “wow factor” features to satisfy the very precise tastes of this design savvy client.
We were told to use the ovens from the old kitchen, to include a large island with seating and to create a visually attractive feature around the main entrance doorway.
We initially extended the mezzanine introducing a bulkhead above the window area which obscured the top of the units from above and this allowed mood up-lighting and task lighting to be introduced.
The junction between the new bulk head and Mezzanine created a natural break between the entrance door and the kitchen and we used this to define our approach.
A large solid ash pivot door was introduced to enhance the existing entrance. The angular solid ash frame was designed to absorb the angular nature of the surrounding architecture and its design considered the existing entrance and door head position with the precise pivoting position being calculated to work within these parameters.
The existing under floor heating meant that a conventional pivot system couldn’t be introduced into the floor so we sourced a specialised system that could be concealed within the door which needed only an 8mm protrusion into the floor.
The aesthetic impact of the pivot door was balanced with the inclusion of a matching solid ash barn door on the opposite side of the room with a solid ash tambour door helping to balance the look whilst providing the client with a small appliance garage.
The island was designed with simplicity in mind with subtle hidden layers helping to deliver impact.
The waterfall worktops create a monolithic presence from various angles which is purposefully contradicted by using heavily chamfered edges along the front of the island to create a floating appearance. The holistic impact is enhanced further by detaching the cabinetry from all surrounding surfaces and including LED lighting which can create a glowing effect at night.
The inclusion of a custom made Gutmann Abajo extraction system delivers unobtrusive functionality enhancing the look further.
The recessed grip handles were made from solid ash and designed to punctuate the design in a unique way, purposefully falling short of the door lengths and penetrating through into the tall cabinetry from the low level units. This required gables, doors and handles to be individually specified to create the look.
Some of the drawer fronts were oversized so as to conceal the large filler required to absorb the angles presented by the walls.
Blum Legrabox drawers and inserts were carefully programmed to deliver functional performance and these drawers helped to deliver a crisp and contemporary interior finish.

Living in the forest is about roaming around, hunting – about survival. It’s not actually that dramatic any more as Oscar Niemeyer’s “Brasilia” shows. This private villa with a kitchen area designed on LEICHT kitchen planning presents Brazil’s jungle capital in miniature: in a swooshing convex roof arch, individual areas set off from each other with glass and natural wood, with sprawling seating terraces, portholes, floor-to-ceiling windows, in brief: visually, the surrounding forest pervades from all sides. As beautiful and exciting as that might be, at the heart of the building, the kitchen area presents itself as a straightforward, down-to-earth sanctuary that very classically conveys the original aspect of a “cooking zone” as a modern kitchen to residents and guests.
Eifler & Associates Architects
The Parks Residence Oakbrook, Illinois The goal of this project was to design a house that reflects the building sensibility of the Midwest, yet brings it into a contemporary context. It was meant to be a new, and modern, approach to regional architecture, not emulate or imitate an existing vernacular. Located on a secluded lot in Oakbrook, Illinois, the building was designed to take full advantage of the spectacular views of the heavily wooded three-acre site. Built on the northwest corner of the property to minimize any impact on the site, the home incorporates large expanses of glass and exterior terraces to make the most of the landscape’s natural resources (which includes a stream that runs adjacent to the home and abundant wildlife). The u-shaped plan of the building, and the way it is sited, also creates a large yet intimate rear yard that captures the sun for much of the day. Natural materials such as Wisconsin stone, copper and stained cedar, maple and Douglas fir are used as both interior and exterior finishes to further reinforce the connection between the outside and inside. The owners are avid horticulturalists, and the ample glass and southern exposure provides daylight for the ongoing display of ornamental plants, which are periodically rotated with other plants from an adjacent greenhouse. The greenhouse also contains a sitting room for meditation. The subtle angles used to refine the proportions of rooms and define the rooflines of this home lend all of its spaces character and individuality. Rustic elegance greets you at each point in this design. The existing deck has been extended to the pool, enhancing the natural balance of the design. The pool incorporates a shelf/tanning deck that melds with the rock features. A waterfall cascades softly into the spa which is tucked away in an expertly crafted grotto. Additionally, a pergola, boardwalk, and a variety of plants create natural harmony with the railway home resulting in a calming, casual aesthetic that reflect the homeowner's individual tastes.
