“We hired Janet to help us design our home on Lake Travis. She was an absolute delight to work with throughout the entire process. I am one of those clients that has a very specific idea of what I want. And Janet is one of those designers that actually listens to what the client has in mind, and then helps them make it even better. She wan't creating her idea of our perfect home, she was helping us create our vision for our home. She was timely and professional, but also has a great sense of humor. Probbably the only negative thing anyone could say about her is that she is a work-a-holic...because she truly loves what she does! Would I hire her again? Absolutely! “I was referred to Randall by Travis Nuchia of Trust Builders. As soon as I was put in contact with Randall, he was very responsive and helpful. We conveyed our vision to him and he got to work quickly, turning around a floor plan within the first week! His communication and flexibility throughout the entire process was above and beyond expectations. He even kept it lighthearted and funny while maintaining professionalism. “Black and Vernooy designed our wonderful lake house. They really listened when we described what we wanted i.e., low maintenance, save trees, indoor/outdoor ambiance. Their plan was innovative and beautiful, mirroring our desires and budget. “We hired architect Richard Hughes, of Element 5 Architecture, to redesign the living areas of our 1957 home. We wanted more light and greater functionality for the space. From the beginning, Richard was professional, approachable, listened to our needs, and communicated his concept well. He was also open to the ideas that my husband and I had about our project and incorporated many of those into the final design. Work was done in a timely manner, and the final result is a more inviting and useable space that’s great for entertaining and for everyday living.”
