I gave him my list of must haves and he designed a digital rendering of what it would look like. From demolition to the final result he was always clean, courteous and considerate of our lives as he worked around us. We love our new bathroom and wish we had done it sooner. “This builder is fabulous. They were honest, up front, conscientious, timely, creative, clean and their trades were terrific. This was a top quality job and the builder worked within my budget. They were working on several projects at the same time of mine and while I was by far the smallest job, they always treated me exactly as they did the job that was 10x's my size and budget. The comprehensive years of experience that the team had was invaluable for me. Great company! I only hope to win the lotto so I can have them build me a house from scratch...this time no budget.”

“During the past two years, my husband and I have embarked upon a major home remodeling project. We chose Giraffe Design Build to design and execute extensive remodeling of our 1950’s era ranch home, including a new roof with 3-foot overhangs in the Prairie style, and a new porch, entrance way, dining room and kitchen. Martin Clarke, our designer, has worked closely with us every step of the way. He has been extremely careful in making sure that he has captured our vision of how we want our remodeled space to appear. He has invested levels of creativity and enthusiasm that far exceed ordinary expectations, resulting in a beautiful, distinctive, and extremely well-crafted remodel. The entire staff at Giraffe has been responsive to our budget, and has given us accurate estimates of the costs and benefits of all prospective changes. Progress has been excellent: we have stayed very close to our timeline. The Giraffe construction crew, supervised by Geoff Beck, has gone out of their way to be courteous and helpful, and to communicate on-going questions and issues concerning the remodeling process. They take great pride in their workmanship, resulting in extraordinary levels of quality. Communication between Giraffe crew, ourselves, and the steady stream of subcontractors also has gone smoothly, and we have been impressed by the quality of work and service Giraffe’s subcontractors have given us. This reflects well on the company as a whole. Remodeling is a stressful journey. We feel very fortunate to have retained Giraffe Design Build. “When choosing a builder for our remodel, we wanted someone we could trust, connect with, and still respect at the end of the process! Steve was very interested and really took the time to find out what we wanted. We liked his straightforward, yet honest approach. We truly appreciate the fact Schuster Homes prides itself in being available and on the job at all times. Although Steve had several other projects going, we always got the impression that our was the only one, as he and his staff were always accessible for our needs. We also appreciated Steve’s positive attitude. No issue was too big or too small, and our happiness was his biggest concern! SHI has a unique feel in that they are truly a family business and really care. There is an old-fashioned pride and work ethic that comes through from the very beginning, and stays until the job is complete. That is not a common quality in businesses these days. We were nervous about the process of doing an extensive remodel, as it was our first, but our experience could not have been better. We had nothing but positives during the planning, executing and completion of our remodel and we can honestly say, we not only have a great builder but awesome friends in the Schusters as well!”

“I hired Dennis Shaefer to build two gazebos in the late 1980's and to remodel my basement in the early 1990's. His work is excellent and long lasting. We recently had the gazebo at our home which was built in 1988 refinished and it looks like it was built just yesterday. The second gazebo he built was on the shores of Lake Michigan at our northern retreat. It has withstood 25 years of extreme wind, cold, sun and sand and still looks as beautiful today as it did when it was first built in 1989. Another advantage to hiring Dennis is that he stands by his work and will correct any future problems. Moreover, even years after he built our products he was ready and able to repair roof damage when some of the shingles blew off from hurricane force winds on Lake Michigan. (The wind only damaged one section of the roof and the Cupola, The same wind capsized a number of boats in Lake Michigan and uprooted trees hundreds of feet from the shoreline.. So i'm not exaggerating when I say his products withstand the test of time and elements.) I recommend Dennis if you are seeking services of the highest quality. Greg Gibbs”
