Gail is particularly good at matching desires with deliverables. She has a unique way of probing and interpreting the client's goals and aspirations and interpreting them into expected deliverables. Experience in lighting design, fabrics, as well as an educator in interior design. Receptive to client input and also provides pointed feedback. Easy to work with, and professional business acumen. She has been instrumental in helping to develop a plan for encompassing my wishes in the overall remodel of my Center City condominium. She facilitates a customer focused implementation plan which could be immediate, or accomplished over time. Gail will not disappoint.”

“We have worked with Penelope Daborn Ltd. on several occasions. We are always pleased with the results. Penny has helped in choosing colors, fabrics and drapes. We recently built a new porch and we had seen a sofa we liked in a magazine. Penny helped to design the piece to be built. In addition she helped with the spatial arrangement of the room, the selection of fabric and window coverings and additional furnishings. We originally worked with Penelope Daborn Ltd. 7 years ago when we moved to a new house. “Marcye Philbrook did interior design work for us over a period of about a year. She is not only a great designer, but a delightful person to interact with in every way. Marcye is a good listener — she quickly understood what we were looking for and adapted her proposals to suit our tastes and sensibilities, while also introducing us to a lot of creative, new ideas. She even expertly negotiated differences between me and my husband, searching for products and regenerating designs until she could please us both. Her design concepts for the rooms in our home were natural, practical, designs-to-live-in. She has a wonderful sense for color and texture — I particularly enjoyed working with her to choose fabrics for pillow sets for our den and living room. The results were quite different for the two rooms, but each set is like a little artwork in itself, with a few fun, specially constructed patchworks that she put together thinking about both design and efficient use of the fabric. She also has great contacts for painters, wallpaperers, rug dealers, seamstresses, cabinet makers, etc., and was able to subcontract directly or guide us to businesses that were honest and reliable and who provided excellent quality products and services. When we realized we had a very tight spot for a bathroom sink, she custom designed a cabinet herself to maximize the use of the space and even made the trip to the marble company warehouse to personally choose the cut of stone to use for the top. I love Marcye and I’d hire her again in a heartbeat.”

She is very easy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone building a house or remodeling their home. She has an in depth understanding of the construction process and that knowledge allows her to stay within your budget and meet all the timelines throughout the building process. She works hard to understand your style and incorporate pieces that reflect who you are and what will work in your home.
