“In April of 2016, we began the search to find the best contractor in the Cincinnati area to build a new addition and remodel our house. It was a difficult process, and after interviewing several contractors I was about to give up until a contractor that had worked on my kitchen recommended Legacy Custom Builders LLC. I was sold from the first meeting with James Kennedy where we walked through the house and discussed the ideas around the addition. James walked me through the entire process and one of the best pieces of advice he gave me was to hire an architect (Darren E. Myers from Kenneth R. Bowerman, Architect, Inc.), also the best in Cincinnati. The entire team at Legacy was committed from day one to meeting our expectations and staying within our budget. From the initial drawings, through the city variance process, and finalizing the budget paperwork, Legacy and Darren were there every step of the way. The Legacy process is transparent so the client can clearly see what the project will actually cost. There are no hidden fees...only honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. No project is too big or too small. Our project was certainly not the biggest job Legacy had going on at the time, but you would never know because both James and Rob make sure no matter how big or small the project is...the client is made to feel that they are the most important. Legacy builds million dollar plus homes that are beyond exquisite. Our 675 square foot addition and exterior remodel, while well under the million dollar price was done with such care and craftsmanship, the neighbors are still complementing us months later on how wonderful and fantastic it is. Legacy transformed our home. Once the construction began, Rob Kennedy took over and managed every detail of the construction. He was onsite almost every day for 6 months. He listened to my ideas and he worked with me to implement them. He made sure things turned out exactly as planned. Rob Kennedy is honest, caring, concerned, accountable, and clearly knows his business of building houses. Construction is not always a smooth and easy process. Things can arise at any time that are unexpected and to the home owner may seem overwhelming and insurmountable. However, Rob is always cool and has a plan of action. He is patient and takes the time to explain all of the options and is only concerned that the client is happy in the end. I can't thank him and his team enough for everything they did over the 6 month period to make things right and ensure everything was taken care of down to the last detail. Overall, I cannot say enough great things about Legacy Custom Builders LLC. There are very few businesses...let alone contractors that are so honest and upfront with clients. It makes a tremendous difference. We couldn't be more pleased with how the addition/renovation turned out. We're lucky to have found Legacy. “Our experience with David Bauer Custom Homes was first class. They remodeled our kitchen and put on an addition to our home that included a sunroom with fireplace, an exercize room and a greatly enlarged master closet. Under the addition they put a basement which contains a man cave, a wine cellar and a lot of storage space. “Michaelson Homes recently completed a 3 floor addition to our home. This addition also featured a additional garage and was integrated into a new patio and pool area. We also used M.H. for an entire new kitchen including moving two walls and enlarging exterior windows. The complexity of the project ranged from matching up roof lines to managing a changing traffic flow both inside and outside of the home, Michaelson Homes did a masterful job. We interviewed several contractors and even more cabinet makers for the project and decided to consolidate all of our project needs with Marc Michaelson, we made a good decision. Marc ended up managing, or at least acting as our liaison with the pool company and the company doing the deck work...from a timing and integration perspective he did a great job. Our project ended up coming in on budget, on time, and exceeded our expectations. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, the work crew that was literally "living" with my family for 3 months could not have been more professional, more polite, and took pride in cleaning up their worksite, our home, every night. We have now used Michaelson Homes for 4 separate projects in 3 different homes over a 10 year period and we could not be more pleased. We are not looking to do any more projects any time soon, but if we ever do it will be with Michaelson Homes!”

The entire process from start to finish was completely enjoyable thanks to Matt’s patience, unparalleled attention to detail and ‘can do’ attitude. So many of our friends have built through big box builders and have complained about moving timelines, communication, and feeling nickeled and dimed, but our experience could not have been more opposite. Matt and his team were reliable, finishing the house on time with a few days to spare, his communication transparent and incredibly responsive, and above all else, he was fair. After we moved in, we found a few small things that needed fixed (mostly paint touch ups) and without a pause, Matt had his team out to complete the work within 2 days and was happy to come back to address anything else we needed with the same positive attitude he carries with him every day. He and his team are incredibly dedicated to their work and love what they do, so much so, that on the day of move in, his punch out guy, William, told me to “take care of [their] baby” and I knew he meant it. They pour their hearts into their homes and it shows by the “wow” elements he creates in each room and the custom details right down to the finishes and fixtures. Matt is a great builder, but more importantly, a great guy as noted not only by us, but by neighbors and contractors as well. I would work with him again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a custom home in Cincinnati.”
