She took a very plain rental place and turned it into a welcoming place of warmth and sophistication. I couldn't be more proud of the space and loved bringing friends and family in to enjoy it with me. My favourite space was the guest powder room... I didn't know it was even possible to make a powder room beautiful. But my favourite part of the overall designer experience would be the memories that were made around the kitchen enjoying feasts with friends and family which would never have happened without Jan's ability to create a beautiful family space. She came up with ideas that were unthought of, my kitchen came out a JEWEL. All friends and neighbours wanted the name of the designer, they loved her ideas. “Scott and I have been so so pleased with the help Laurie has given us in decorating our home. Laurie is very creative, fun to work with, and has amazing colour sense. She recently helped us bring cohesiveness to our large high ceiling "great" room. A dining and sitting space with a wood stove, that was disjointed and lacking warmth and coziness; is now just the opposite. Reclaimed ceiling tin was found, stripped, and then antiqued , and mounted to hang beautifully on our chimney. A one of a kind art piece that visitors to our house keep admiring. An area rug, a round end table that Laurie did a "tea" stain on, a fabric covered coffee table with custom legs that Laurie designed and stained, a mirror, and pillows; are all items that she brought in. Function was considered, not just the aesthetics. Also our house was built in the 1950's; decorating was tastefully done in keeping with the general look of the whole house. In a nutshell. I'd use Leclair-hyett again in a heartbeat! Many, many thanks!!! Helen”
