Wool is hard to challenge for its sustainability. At the end of its life, wool is bio-degradable in the soil, releasing important nutrients. However, if you invest in a Pendleton wool blanket, you will never throw it away you'll just pass it down thru the generations.
Wool is a highly practical fiber. Easy to clean because dirt sits on the surface of the fiber (and so can be wiped off), it needs very little washing or laundry. It dries quickly and is flame-retardant. Naturally anti???allergenic, wool does not collect static which attracts dust and dirt, so those with allergies to house-mites or dust are turning to wool bedding. Many customers who suffer from asthma or eczema buy Pendleton wool blankets.

Pendleton National Parks Glacier Blanket Twin, Queenby Pendleton Woolen Mills(1)
$349

Since the early 1900s, Pendleton Woolen Mills has honored America's National Parks with a collection of distinctive park blankets. Glacier Park National Park Blanket was one of the first. Its historic markings and colors date back to the frontier trading posts. Traders would indicate the weight of the blanket offered in exchange for furs by holding up one finger for each pound. The original blankets incorporated three, four or five black stripes in the design, which indicated the value of the blanket. Colors and variations of the original striped theme have been adapted to reflect distinguishing characteristics of each park and blanket in the collection. National Park Blankets are still woven right here in our Pacific Northwest mills, just as they were nearly 100 years ago.

Pendleton Big Medicine Oxford Blanketby Pendleton Woolen Mills(573)
$299

The rare white bison occurs only once in every 10 million births. In 1933, a white buffalo was born in the wild on Montana's Flathead Indian Reservation and was called Big Medicine to reflect his sacred power. Many Native American tribes consider the return of the White Buffalo the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy and the beginning of a new era for the peoples and Mother Earth. The seven bison on this blanket represent the seven directions: North, South, East, West, Above, Below and Within. Together they symbolize wholeness for mankind and the earth. Prayer pipes signify mankind's communication with the Creator. In the center of the blanket, within the circle of life, are four hands representing the diverse peoples of the world and a new beginning. Napped. 64X80 DRY CLEAN
