Alpha Home Design & Consulting LLCArchitectsTypical Job Cost: $2,000 - 20,000
Owner, Scott Brekke, has over 20+ years in the construction residential industry. His passion for home building and remodeling started when he was just a teenager learning the skills of the trade alongside his father who still owns and operates a successful construction business in southern Minnesota. Scott went on to college and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and Design, from Minnesota State University of Mankato and was excited to be doing what he loved. Scott is an entrepreneur at heart and has owned his own company since 2004. Being skilled in many facets of the processes of home building and remodeling, we believe, gives him a unique edge above the rest. Being able to draw on his skills in the actual building process and management of homes and remodeling allows him to verify his designs through that knowledge base giving added assurance to the technical success of his design plans. His real passion is to help clients get the plans they want that fits their needs and budget. And he is excited about meeting new people, making connections and being of service to his clients in any part of the design process that he can.
We had a wonderful experience working with Alpha Home design, to design our home. Mr. Brekke truly listened to our needs and incorporated all our ideas into a beautiful, functional design. Mr. Brekke was collaborative, patient, and made the whole process easy to understand. We highly recommend him, he managed to maximize our space while staying within our budget. The final design is better than we imagined. We have to mention that he is very professional, creative, and highly knowledgeable. We are pretty sure that we will be so happy with our new home DALYS & OMAR

Rush Dixon ArchitectsArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $1 million - 6 million
Rush Dixon Architects is a solutions-based, contemporary architecture and design firm. For us, a clear understanding of what is being designed, built or re-fashioned is a must, so before we ever put pen to paper we take the necessary time to listen and assess. Results-driven, we design strategically and artfully to create winning solutions that bring value to our clients, whether the goal is a more efficient business, a clearer brand, or a more functional, livable custom residence. We believe that modern design is not found solely in the materials, but rather through the pursuit of better spaces for living and doing business. Rush Dixon Architects is woman-owned and small by design. WHAT MODERN DESIGN MEANS TO US We are passionate about design, work hard and have fun along the way. Over the years, we have leaned more and more toward minimalism and a modernist approach to our designs while keeping eyes wide open to the environmental and built context. Add in the end user’s programmatic requirements to complete the march towards form following function. Historically, the term ‘modern architecture’ describes an architectural style lacking ornamentation and embracing minimalism, usually by incorporating the use of glass, steel and concrete. Modern design to us means functional, empathetic, sustainable, and edited design. Our derivation of this movement is ever changing with the needs of our clients, construction materials and sustainable strategies. We feel there is power in simplicity and continue to evolve, refine and explore with each design opportunity. COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY “Talent is universal but opportunity is not.” It is clear to us that we are able to do what we love because we were given opportunities in education, industry mentorship and through clients who trust us with their projects. To that end we invest in our local community and the industry at large to help create an equitable landscape for all by supporting the following organizations: Lowcountry Local First, ACE Mentors, Turn 90 Project, Fresh Future Farm and the Paul R. Williams Student Scholarship. Instagram: @rushdixonarchitects
I have had the benefit of working with Rush Dixon Architects on various projects over the years. I initially met them working on a school construction project about 10 years ag. Since then, I've hired them to help us with the initial space planning and buildout of my office space, the renovation of my office and most recently, as a custom home builder working together on a beautiful waterfront project. I truly enjoy their creative talents and professionalism, and they are just plain fun to work with! As a custom builder, communication and attention to detail is extremely important to us. It is how we keep our projects on schedule, on budget and how we keep our clients happy. Rush and Judy set the bar for how a builder and architect team should collaborate to design and build exceptional projects for our clients.

SLC Architect LLCArchitects, Architectural DesignSLC Architect, LLC is a small architectural practice specializing in custom residential architecture in the South Carolina Low Country. Sabrina grew up in a family construction business, giving her a unique understanding of the building process involved in making an architectural design become reality. She inspires to be an architect that both clients and contractors are excited to collaborate with. SLC Architect strives to exceed expectations at every stage of the design process, and Sabrina puts her entire heart into designing dream homes for her clients that they are proud to own and happy to live in.
What drew us towards Sabrina was how well she listened to us during our very first meeting. Rather than try to impress us with what she had done, she listened to what we were wanting to do. What made it so much of a pleasure to work with her, during the design and construction process, was how well she communicated back and forth with us and the builder. But what truly delighted us as clients, was the end product of her design! A true Lowcountry inspired home, with great function, that has so much form our neighbors stop us and compliment the architechture. Sabrina combined contemporary interior design and functionality with an exterior that exemplifies the Lowcountry. She brings inspiration to the project, expertise to the process and excellence to the product. We highly recommend Sabrina to anyone who desires a participative process and an interactive architect who puts the client first.

DLB Custom Home DesignArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $1 million - 8 million
Damien Busillo, AIA, NCARB, is a registered Architect designing homes throughout the Lowcountry and Barrier Islands of South Carolina. Here you will find unique residences that have been specifically designed for each client's needs, desires, and budget. You will see Contemporary designs that are also sensitive to Traditional styles. I have over a decade of experience designing high-end custom residential homes on Kiawah Island, Daniel Island, Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, Beaufort, and a variety of other Coastal locations across the Low Country of South Carolina. Designing homes is a passion of mine and I believe that as our lives evolve, so should our domestic spaces. I am constantly reminded that home design is a testing ground, in which there is always room for changing , tinkering, and experimentation. Please take your time to look around and email with any questions. As a member of the AIA and the Building Enclosure Council I will utilize the latest methods and techniques in building science when designing your new dream home.
For first-time home builders like us, we were looking for an architect who would be patient and who would educate and lead us through the many decisions involved in designing a custom home. Thankfully, we found that in DLB Custom Home Design. Though a series of Zoom calls (it was a pandemic and we lived out of town), Damien helped us understand our options -- and our preferences -- and led us to a final design that perfectly captures our desire for a transitional home that incorporates both traditional and contemporary touches. Though you'll see Damien's name all over Daniel Island construction projects, he was always responsive and extremely hands-on with us. There was no delegating work to a large support team. You get Damien. And he is always patient, highly competent, meets deadlines, and has a flair for innovative design that sets his houses apart from others in the area. Long after the design process was completed, Damien remained involved with our project, working with our builder, our landscape architect, and the architectural review board to ensure the final product met our expectations. And it certainly exceeded them. We had a wonderful experience working with DLB Custom Home Design.

Frederick + Frederick ArchitectsArchitects, Architectural DesignTypical Job Cost: $50,000 - 3 million
Frederick + Frederick Architects has emerged as a leader in contemporary southern architecture in the more than 35 years they have been in practice. Their design aesthetic is based on the principals of historic architecture of the hot and humid south, with a decidedly fresh take on the traditional. Vernacular traditions give a head start in sustainability by incorporating forgotten strategies while creating a modern regionalism of necessity. The firm is led by partners, Jane Frederick, FAIA and Michael Frederick, AIA. Jane and Michael have deep roots in the South and chose to locate their firm in Beaufort, South Carolina. Frederick + Frederick Architects strives to create houses that are integrated into the landscape. The first step for every house is a careful site analysis. “Appropriate placement on the site is a crucial step for the success of the project,” says Michael Frederick, “The house must respond to the sun angles, the trees, and the views.” Sustainability is of the utmost importance to Frederick + Frederick Architects. As early signatories of the American Institute of Architects’ 2030 Commitment, the firm joined the ranks of cutting edge architecture firms across the country in a joint effort to produce only net-zero energy buildings by 2030.
When we found our perfect lot in Beaufort SC, we knew we would need someone special to help us bring our dreams to life. Everything we wanted seemed to be a contradiction in terms ie. a small dogtrot house with lots of natural light yet deep porches, and with an extra large car enthusiasts's dream garage that doesn't dwarf the house. We wanted something fresh and modern, but filled with our quirky antiques and souvenirs from our travels. We wanted something both cozily familiar , yet adventurously daring! Enter Frederick & Frederick! In their expert hands our ideas were elevated to the next level! No detail was too small, starting with the brilliant way they sited the house on the lot, creating a private oasis that captured the views spectacularly. Eaves became extensions of the interior ceilings clad in the same cypress connecting the inside with the outdoors. The front facade features a stunning arch of glass spanning the entire front porch, filling the house with natural light. The kitchen became a masterpiece of contemporary elegance. Even the air return registers hold a secret message... the blueprint of our home repeatedly reproduced into the grille and signed with our initial! Little strokes of genius are tucked to surprising places! We could go on and on about the many features we love in this home! But the most important aspect of building with Frederick & Frederick is how they delivered all this while making the process a joyful "team" adventure. Between our weekly on site meetings and in depth reports, we were able to relax and enjoy the building experience knowing we were in good hands! They were always a text away, no matter how silly the question. They encouraged us and cared deeply about our project. They really do "hold your hand" through the entire build and beyond, and we were confident they wouldn't let us make an expensive mistake! Building with Frederick & Frederick was the best decision we ever made. They are wonderful, talented purple, and in the end we got a home beyond our wildest dreams, and very dear friends too!

Choosing Thomas and Denzinger means buying into a complete package—from concept to completion—that is a rarity in the today’s market. We are thrilled with our new home and will not hesitate to call Joel when we are ready to build again.
