I provided some rough plans; Bob presented several interesting variations for consideration, pointed out what was practical and what was not, and provided a very accurate estimate of building costs. There was no problem when I needed to put the project on hold. When it was time to put the project out for bid, he suggested that we include a firm he had noticed but had not worked with before; I did end up choosing them to build the house and that, too, worked out very well. His experience was evident throughout the process, from siting the house on the property and being familiar with period architectural styles, to monitoring the work while periodically visiting the construction site.
