“We have used M&C Landscaping for replacing front steps as well as entire large driveway in Cornelius. After getting 4 estimates, I contacted a neighbor to asked who did his driveway which was M&C. The estimates varied by more than $6000 dollars. The Owner, Maynor, said initially that he wouldn't be the highest priced contractor nor the lowest. As it turned out, he was the second lowest and more than that, his process for replacing the driveway exceeded all the other quotes which meant his base for the driveway was deeper after removing the existing concrete and the layers of materials used exceeded all others quotes. Pedro, his lead contractor, set the pitch for drainage and laid EVERY paver with the help of 4 others, The crew was polite, friendly, and cleaned up perfectly each day. The processor 5 days. I provided drinks and donuts as they worked in the heat of the summer last year. Maynor provided a huge list of references and we were able to see his workmanship prior to signing on. This month he put in water drainage systems to stop the shoreline erosion which was occurring above my lakefront walkway. He also replaced my pine needles with rich brown mulch and he and his company highly recommended.”

“GT masonry rebuilt the dangerously uneven and deteriorated flagstone front porch steps (two sets). They added another step, making each step wide with easy and even elevations. He also replaced deteriorated mortar on the front walk, and set post support brackets for a railing. His price was very reasonable for the work and expertise involved. He was always on time whenever we agreed to meet and discuss the job. It was a pleasure to work with him. I am happy I had a chance to meet this fine craftsman and pleasant man. “We recently moved to an updated home in an older neighborhood with a small, tired side-yard. We needed a transformation; what we got was a miracle.
We consulted with a landscape architect who helped with the design. She recommended we hire Rooted Craftsmen, LLC to do the work, primarily because we needed an experienced stone mason who was capable of making the new construction match the unique finishes on the outside of the home.
Rooted Craftsmen did everything: they completely removed all of the old landscaping, leveled the yard and rebuilt from the ground up, including sprinklers, lighting and electric distribution, gas lines, planting beds, sod, etc. The owner, David Garcia, isn’t just a contractor – he’s truly a craftsman. He planned carefully, had a great eye for detail, made many recommendations on how we could tweak the design and function of the yard and ultimately constructed the improvements with a degree of quality and care that made us feel like he was doing the kind of work he would do at his own home.
The end result was a fabulous stone bench, fire pit and outdoor kitchen that is the envy of the neighborhood. Anyone can build, but what Rooted Craftsman delivered was functional, artistic and will probably last 100 years given the quality of the work.
