“During spring-summer of 2015, Ace II General Contractors remodeled our kitchen/family room and mudroom/laundry room and made other needed improvements to our house. The job involved demolition down to the studs; re-doing electrical, plumbing, and ducting; and reconstructing to a high quality finished project. A downstairs "1980's technology" picture window was replaced with a bay window constructed and insulated for Alaskan conditions. Similarly, a high window in the same wall was replaced with a better-insulated unit. Their approach was extremely professional, coordinating and managing the suppliers and subcontractors and involving an engineer from the beginning of the project. The knowledge and experience carried by Ray and his crew allowed them to build toward the final product seamlessly through the intermediate stages. In contrast with new construction, there are always surprises and unanticipated issues that are uncovered in a remodeling project, unless your remodeler built the original structure. Things like original plumbing not located as expected and vent ducting that could be better functioning. The Ace II crew identified and dealt with these little glitches carefully to blend the adjustments into the finished product. The final stages of the project, after appliances, cabinets, tilework, stone countertops, and fixtures were installed, involved some pretty intricate wood trim. It all turned out beautifully. We were able to communicate with NP Utilities and GVEA, in conjunction with Big Street Construction, in order to expidite the repairs and return to the market. When we sold the home, the housing inspection repairs were immediately turned to Big Street Construction. We moved a wood burning stove and hired Keesler Construction to demo the old hearth pad and tile on the walls, and replace/finish the drywall. The service is amazing.
