“The project consists of a re-model of a run down bar where the previous owners did not do any up keep. We started out by having him do the new construction drawings which were changed by us about 20 times and he had no complaints changing them. When construction started he allowed us to do some sweat equity to save on costs for tearing the inside out, for which I know a lot of other builders do not allow this. He continues to allow us to do certain sweat equity jobs when needed and so far that has put us $9000 under his budget. I have a partner in this project and when we have differences of opinion he has been our 3rd party negotiator to smooth things out. His background in engineering and construction ideas continue to change on certain things to make the project continue smoothly and more cost effective in the long run. I would recommend Sysum Construction to anyone who wants excellent craftsmanship and a builder that works well with others on the project.”

“Dovetail Construction performed a complete remodel of our home, (See Spring Creek home photos on Dovetails site) a challenge made more difficult by the fact that we lived 1200 miles away. Their budgets were practical and accurate, communications were detailed, timely and concise, their construction schedule was adhered to, and move in happened as planned in April. It was a "can do" attitude through out the entire project. Dovetail is: *Craftsmanship, communication, pride, service, and commitment, made possible by Tim R. and Kevin S. professional construction educations in civil engineering and construction management, prior work experiences, life long friendship and their commitment to their clients. They are the real McCoy. I had been a commercial construction executive for 30 years and have experienced much. It has been a pleasure working with Dovetail. Companies like theirs are hard to find.”

“Michael McCarthy, the owner of Stonefly Construction, built our house in Clancy, Montana. My wife and I were impressed by Michael's attention to detail; the finishes were clean and modern, rustic wood accents from a local mill provided contrast to the modern design, and little comfort touches and conveniences were incorporated all throughout the house. Despite being in Montana, which experiences extremes of temperature on both ends of the scale, the house was extremely efficient. It was normal for us to walk around the house in shorts and a t-shirt when it was -30 degrees outside, with very low utility costs. The overall build quality was excellent, the design and layout were thoughtful, and the house was beautiful. Very highly recommended.”

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Don on two home construction projects. On the first project, I received two quotes and Don’s bid was the high. I ended up choosing the low bidder and deeply regret my decision. The contractor I went with used the cheapest subcontractor’s he could find, underestimated lumber quantities, and was never on site so I ended up doing most of the work myself. On the second project, I realized that the low bid is not always the best bid so I went with Don Schmidt. Don delivered a high quality home on time and under budget.
