“When I moved into my new but 23 year old house, I was aware there were a few problems to be dealt with. My house had been used as a summer cabin at Higgins Lake, vacant the previous 23 winters, and I was new to the area and turning it into a year round residence. This is not always a given! We made smooth transitions to an upgrade or two with the exterior trim and deck, plus the installation of a mount for a brass carriage lamp that I found at a local thrift store as we neared completion.
