“Six years ago, after having lived in a new house I had bought the previous year, I needed help. I wanted to make my house into a warm, welcoming home that would reflect my personality. I chose Anna Light to be my interior designer. She was always very professional. She focused on me and my tastes, my likes and dislikes and did a wonderful job. Anna has made my house into the home I’ve always wanted. It’s so beautiful. I love coming home to it and I enjoy inviting my friends over. Anna is a truly gifted interior designer. Not only does she have an innate artistic ability, but she was able to clearly determine my tastes and design my home décor around them. I also appreciated her desire and ability to stay within my budget. I worked with her again the following year to help me decorate my home for a Christmas party. She, once again, demonstrated her “gift” by making my home elegant and inviting for my guests. In the years since, she has helped me choose additional accent pieces, and even helped me frame several oil paintings. Anna is wonderful to work with and goes “above and beyond” to make her clients very happy. She’ll be the one I call the next time I need an interior designer.”

She works collaboratively, is responsive and listens to all of my ideas, helping me weed out the not so great ideas. The end product and look of a space is always beautiful, practical and perfectly executed. She’s great at finding ways to utilize space efficiently and selecting beautiful fabrics and lighting. “I hired Exquisite Designs a little over a year ago for their interior design services. I had interviewed many interior design companies here in the Northern Virginia area but was not happy with the business practice of putting thousands of dollars down as a retainer before starting any work. At the end of the day, I selected Paulanne Gregson's Exquisite Designs company because of her very friendly business model of paying by the our for her time. Paulanne first worked with me to understand my tastes in style and materials and then came up with a plan to transform my home into a cozy living space. We started with picking colors and painting my family room and foyer and then selecting and buying furniture for my family room. We then progressed to redoing my kitchen including tile flooring, granite counter tops, sink, cooktop, under cabinet lighting and tile back splash. I liked that she was flexible in terms of allowing me to do some of the painting but also suggesting very reasonable contractors to do the work if I didn't want to, or couldn't perform the installation or work myself. She has a wonderful eye for color and making sure that everything matches. But one of her best attributes is knowing home materials (like wood, tile, types of paint, etc...) and their applications and making suggestions on their use. I'll end this by saying, it's been a very enjoyable experience in that she has been very flexible with me, allowing me to make decisions where I wanted but always being ready to step in with advice or making sure an installation contractor was doing the work correctly. I give Exquisite Designs my highest recommendation. -Steven W.”

“We have worked with Marisa for over a year on the remodel of our basement. We highly recommend her! We are probably unique clients because we did a lot of the work ourselves. Marisa was patient with us, worked at our pace, and was very responsive to our requests and questions during the remodel process. Our work with Marisa started by hiring her to help us design the space - entry way, living room, kids play area, exercise room, laundry room, guest room - including tearing down and building new walls. She provided a thorough lay out and design recommendations, including two great built-in shelving units and a new tiled gas fireplace. Her color, fabric, carpet, tile choices were spot-on. When furniture items were outside our budget range, she came up with good lower cost alternatives. And she always has recommendations for contractors or stores to meet our needs. Marisa is fabulous - her expertise is well worth the cost!”

“I had a pending job opportunity in DC area and came across basement property that would be ready by the time I would need it (3 months later). I viewed property in construction phase and could not see it as a place I'd want to live, let alone be ready in three months. I was so wrong and so blown away! The tiny basement apartment looked roomy and had a zen flow post construction. Amazing design!”

“Synergy's attention to detail has been outstanding throughout the planning phase of our renovation. Synergy's design team exceeded our expectations and as demolition has now begun we eagerly await the construction phase. We have every confidence that Synergy's team will once again wow us. Update: Our Kitchen/Great Room renovation is complete and Synergy's design and construction teams absolutely blew us away with their attention to detail and customer service. To be fair, it is not possible to completely convey our level of satisfaction in a short review. When is the last time you worked with a team of professionals whose standards for excellence exceed your own? Without fail, when we would raise a potential issue with Synergy we would find out they had already noticed it and created a plan to address it. Think about that for a moment, not push back, not an attempt to avoid extra work by saying there is no issue. Instead, reassurance that they are holding themselves to a standard that is higher than your own. Simply put, that never happens. Yet with Synergy it is just the way they work. When their level of craftsmanship (which is nothing short of uniformly excellent) is married with Synergy's ability to design and deliver breathtaking spaces, the result redefines what renovating can and should be.
