We called Karen Vander Werp of Transforming Interiors and with her amazing vision and incredible eye for detail, our dining/living room has been completely redone and we are so thrilled with the results! She was able to work with a few pieces of furniture that we wanted to keep and incorporated them into an updated an amazing look. From painting our tire woodwork, painting our oak table, modernizing our 3-way fireplace with faux painting and adding a new seating area with beautiful window treatments, the dining room was completely transformed. It was the same with the living room a year later. She was able to see options that we wouldn't have noticed or thought of. From artwork to furniture to accessories to window treatments, she was "spot on" every time. What we also appreciated was the way she listened to us and what our likes and dislikes were and would fins ways to ensure her vision, along with keeping our wants and needs. Plus she made it fun and interesting. We learned so much from her guidance. “Kitty is a wonderful, collaborative interior designer and I love working with her. I first hired Kitty in 2001 when we were building our custom home. She was involved with floor planning, paint, flooring, cabinetry. Her recommendations made a positive difference in how our home was done, as we had a difficult lot on which to build and therefore a limited footprint. She also provided a design concept with furniture, color scheme, fabrics, etc. Over the years I contacted her for several other projects - usually once a year or so, and they encompassed such things as repainting, drapery design and coordination with seamstress, wall art layout, more furniture, bedding/bedskirts, furniture layout, accessories, etc. Kitty is amazingly easy to work with. I have had experiences with two designers in the past where the designer forced ideas on me that I ultimately did not love. She works around sentimental items that I have rather than turning her nose up at them. My home has Kitty's stamp all over it. I have referred her to others and she will be my designer for life!”

“We wanted to remodel the basement and our contractors talked to us about taking out the bedrooms and making one big theatre room. We had heard about Kathleen Townsend Interior Design and decided to give her a call and see what a interior designer would bring to the project. It was the best decision we ever made. She sat down with us and listened to us on what we wanted to do with the room. She brought fresh and new ideas to the project. After Kathleen listened to what we wanted from the room she helped us to decide to make it into a family room. She brought samples and books with her ideas and helped us think outside the box. April 2012 We had used Kathleen Townsend Interior Design for our project in the basement and were so pleased we wanted to use her again for our office project. We wanted to take our formal dining room and make it into an office. We needed the office functional but with a warm and comfortable atmosphere. She did most the work, we just had to pick out what we wanted from her samples and books. She checked with everyone involved on the project to make sure they were on schedule. Again the transformation was astonishing. It is more than we had hoped for. Everyone that has come to visit cannot stop talking about how stunning the room is. July 2015 We had done a project in the basement in 2011 with Kathleen Townsend Interior Design and it was a total transformation that we decided to move forward with the rest of the basement. After talking with Kathleen about what we wanted to do with the room she helped us think outside the box. To envision what we wanted the room for and imagine how we could achieve it. We took an ordinary basement room and turned it into a stunning exercise room. We ended up moving the bathroom and enlarging the room. It was able to give us plenty of room for our equipment, sauna, and put a personal touch to the room. The bathroom is not only functional but exquisite. Every contractor that helped with the project is astonished at the results. We are astounded with the rooms and would highly recommend Kathleen Townsend Interior Design. She is marvelous and the end results are breathtaking.”
