“Elaine was a delight to work with. She was very responsive which was such a nice surprise when working with a contractor. She remodeled our kitchen, living room, and bathroom. I have champagne taste and a beer budget. Elaine was communicative, found great substitutes that were in our price range, and gave us a lot of choices. Any issues we have had she immediately responds and coordinates a solution within 24 hrs. Her team was really pleasant to work with.”

“We were referred to Jennifer Michael Design by our builder, knowing she came highly recommended. In the throes of construction, my husband and I could not have had more different tastes or hopes for our new home. Hands down, working with Jennifer was the one of the best decisions we ever made. She was able to listen attentively to both of us and translate the ideas into gorgeous and thoughtful designs. Her assistance with visual imagery, sourcing of options, and guidance throughout the design process was more than we could have hoped for. The result of her help is a home that we are proud to call ours. She combined the aesthetic that we were looking for with the function that a family needs for everyday life, working closely not only with us, but with our builder to insure even the smallest details were perfect. “We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Susan designed a new kitchen layout for our home, including moving walls, changing plumbing, etc. She identified and hired the appropriate contractors and worked closely with the kitchen cabinet company. She worked through all of the details of the job with us (selection of countertops, tile, lighting, wall colors, flooring, window treatments). Susan ensured a very high quality job and we love our remodeled kitchen. We have also worked with Susan on the design and decorating of many other rooms in our home. She is very professional and knowledgable about all aspects of design. We would hire her again for any interior design job, big or small.”

“Jill and her team are incredibly talented, efficient, and kind. The results exceeded our expectations. They listened carefully and spent the time to help us figure out what we really wanted. They offered us many options (but not too many) and guided us through the process. The ongoing communication and feedback during the design project was admirable. “I entrusted Thelma with the task of turning my house of 30 years into a new home, and I have reaped the benefits of that decision. After changing the living room and dining room into one large room; installing hardwood floors; gutting and building two new bathrooms; installing new windows in every room, including the porch; painting the entire interior; adding new lighting and fixtures; refinishing my older furniture and buying new rugs and furniture; and reframing many pictures, I have a new and beautiful living space. Thelma dealt with and coordinated all of the contractors and sales people from start to finish, making the process rather easy. I was able to go away several times during the process, with complete confidence. At every step of the way, Thelma kept my tastes, needs, and wishes as her top priority. If and when the need arises, I am 100% certain to turn to Thelma again.”

“Sashya was hired to help us design the basement of our house (appx 1800 sq feet). She has previously worked with us with our interior design of our house and had done an excellent job. She not only designed the basement but also helped us with the contruction process. She adds a lot of details to her work which makes it easy for the contruction process and shows attention to minor details which adds quality. She is respectful of our time and budget and gives us options to stay within our limits for both. She has a friendly personality which makes it easier to work with and fun during the project. I would highly recommend her to anyone who would like to do any design or architect work big or small.”

“Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”
