“My husband and I worked with Davis Home Pro on an extensive remodel of our 2,000 sq/ft home in Orinda. We took everything down to the studs and DHP did all new electrical, plumbing, dry wall, flooring, etc. Everyone we talked to cautioned us that our project would likely go way over budget and way over schedule. To our delight, this was not the case. DHP worked within our budget and provided alternatives when we need to cut costs. They were extremely up front with us from the get go and we knew exactly how much we were spending and when we went over budget it was our choice - not because we were forced into it or misled. Perhaps more importantly (we were expecting our first baby in the middle of this project), they were ON TIME. These two factors make them 5 stars in my opinion. I would say the quality of their work is very high. We have experienced some minor issues, like doors scraping floors or counters needing additional caulking. But DHP was quick to resolve during our 1-year warranty agreement. In addition to all this, Jason, Richard, Pete and team were a pleasure to work with. Extremely pro active and really nice people. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for jobs big and small.”

“Hiring Wayne Christian to do our kitchen remodel was the absolute best decision we made in the entire project. We had to bury a 17 foot steel I-beam in the ceiling to hold up the 2nd story of our house in order to remove a wall that opened up our space. There were many obstacles in doing this, including routing of electrical, plumbing vents, and venting of our exhaust hood to the outside. Wayne always had a solution and discussed options with us. Despite the additional time involved to do some of this, he was extremely fair with change orders and we never felt "nickeled and dimed." He worked very well with other parties including the kitchen designer, the cabinet installer, and the granite fabricator/installer so that led to a minimum of problems during the job. He works alone (although sometimes with his son Andrew in the summer) so if you are looking for the fastest job, look elsewhere. But he was diligent in keeping our job moving forward with very few days that he had to go to another client/project. Wayne is a terrific person, very creative, very meticulous, and always conscious of minimizing the disruption on us. We feel he has become a friend, plus someone we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. All-in-all, it was the best experience we've ever had with a remodeling contractor. Highly recommended! “Artistic Kitchen and Design has remodeled our kitchen and both our bathrooms of our Eichler house. We chose AKD because they are a "one stop shop". They handled the design, project management, inspections, and all the labor for all the projects. The designs do speak for themselves. They were designed to our liking and have made our living space more usable than it ever was before. Sylwia designed our kitchen. We ran into some issues that we did not anticipate, but we were not surprised since the house is older and previous remodels were not done to code. All changes (electrical, plumbing, architectural, etc.) are now to code. One issue encountered was upgrading the electrical to the island in our kitchen. Because the original electrical pipe was not thick enough to pull old and new wires through, a new pipe had to be installed to get electrical to the island. There was also an issue after the project was done where the fan/vent installed had a small leak...which was only discovered after heavy rains. AKD fixed this issue promptly. Sylwia's design gave us a great-looking kitchen, more storage, and more natural light. We did use a temporary storage area for our kitchen furniture, but AKD did build a small covered area within the kitchen/dining area for temporary use (ie. microwave, refrigerator). Yana designed both our bathrooms. We love the pebbled shower floor in the Master. The colors make the room interesting dry or wet. Make sure the water drains to the drain and doesn't puddle. The puddling can be fixed. The use of pebbles and colors, and the materials that Yana chose was on target for the zen-ish look and feel that I wanted the bathroom to have. Without her vision of design, I'm not sure we would have gotten the room we wanted. We are very happy with this bathroom. I only wish our kids would stay out of it more often, but they find the pebbles so interesting. The guest bathroom has more storage and is pleasantly a new look from the previous bathroom. The tiles, vanity, lighting, and colors really came together to give the bathroom a new look and feel. Even though the toilet, sink, tub/shower are in the same place as the previous look, the transformation is immense with Yana's design. The colors added with the rain glass window make the bathroom brighter and much more pleasant than the former bathroom. Because most Eichlers have radiant heating, be sure to have a radiant heating expert check for any leaks and get those fixed before any tile work is done. AKD was able to find some piping in our master bathroom that had to be re-worked because the previous work on a pipe there was not done correctly. I like the way AKD staff works together to find solutions to the problems encountered. I will post pictures of the projects once the final pictures are ready.
