“Jo did a fantastic job on our back garden. She talked us through how the garden would be used as well as how we wanted it to look. From start to finish the whole project was managed in a friendly and professional manner. The guys who worked on the garden were great and worked very hard whatever the weather! The project was managed by Jo and Dave throughout the process and was finished on time with a minimum of disruption and mess. I would not hesitate to recommend Elmfield Gardens. Great job!”

“We initially approached Garden Designer Matt Haddon early in 2013 when our house was in the early stages of construction. He very carefully listened to our brief and gave us initial outlying designs, measuring, taking soil samples etc. We had thought that we would use his expertise to plan, design, and layout the new garden (we'd do the work) but we found him so knowledgeable, and amenable that we asked him to do the work for us. The planting is exquisite, we back onto open countryside and we wanted to have an extension of the country feel, making it a haven for birds, bees and nectar loving insects. Matt has done just that, our garden is full of colour, contrast, fruit and all manner of wonderful plants and tress - all carefully chosen for our soil type and aspect. Matt planned the garden with interest all year round and came back in October of this year to finalise next years spring bulbs. I cannot recommend Matt highly enough, our garden has been an investment and wonderful complement to our house. Matt has even left us with a comprehensive plant care plan, so that we know how to care for the plants he has chosen, now whilst we are not amateur gardeners, it is helpful to know sometimes if a particular plant or shrub needs cutting back hard in October or March! We are happy to recommend Matt 100% so if you are looking for garden design in East Yorkshire, or beyond, do give him a call. Matt was, I believe an arborist/trees specialist before he became a Garden Designer and we saw his award winning stand at the Harrogate Garden Show this year so we are very happy to be part of his successful portfolio of garden designs and landscaping work.”

“We asked Kit Peel Gardens to create a design for our garden. We required something that was low maintenance (as neither of us is green fingered), wildlife friendly and on a reasonably tight budget. We found Kit to be very friendly and a delight to have about. He spent a great deal of time discussing ideas with us and was very patient with our naive comments! He surveyed the garden before returning a couple of weeks later with not only drawings but an online 3D design which gave us a great idea of what his plans were. We were initially reticent about having the Amerlanchier Lamarkii trees as we were worried that they would be out of place in a small garden but he was absolutely right and we love them as do the birds. In the spring we had dozens of bees visiting everyday which is what we had hoped for. Additionally, we have plants flowering at different times of the year which provides all year round interest. We would highly recommend Kit to anybody wanting a bespoke garden design.”

“I am reluctant to write reviews but this company is exceptional. Mark Hanlon IS New Leaf Landscapes. He is the Planner, Negotiator, Technician, Designer and every working hour IMPLEMENTER of the agreed project. He does not run a large team and that is where he scores above all others. The small team he uses on a project are all on board until the job is finished. They are highly professional and exceptional in their work. No hopping off to get on with another project as I have found in the past with other such people. Mark and the team stay on site until the job is finished. This may be so with other landscapers but I have never come across someone who gives you more than you asked for in design ideas and technical drawings so that you know exactly what you are going to get as the finished job and at a fair price. He has completed three landscape jobs for me and on my recommendation he has done jobs for neighbours - a brave thing to do with good neighbours. They also have been delighted with the result. I am happy that Mark Hanlon invites anyone to come and see what he has done at our home.”

“Bea's professionalism is second to none. From the initial phone call to completion of the project, she was a joy to work with. She really listens, and grasped what we were trying to achieve straight away, understanding how the large Om garden was going to be used, how it fitted into the overall garden scheme, and the key part it played in the vista from the house and guest lodging during the different seasons. Her plant knowledge and creativity with texture/smell/height/colour etc is one of her key skills. Her designs were visually appealing, easy to understand, fully explanatory and labelled, and together with illustrative images of the plants themselves (we weren't familiar with many of them) we had a proper sense of what to expect. And we weren't disappointed! It's been 18 months since the planting was done so we've seen the blooming results through the seasons. Spectacular! And the Om garden a haven of tranquility. And we also want to mention the actual hard graft preparation/planting schedule. Bea gave us comprehensive advice on soil preparation, and project managed the actual planting of thousands of plants according to her plan, rolling up her sleeves to give the team a hand and offer advice when we weren't sure about something.”
