She creates wonderful outdoor spaces for people to live in by helping them figure out what fits for them. This could be a small garden or a large estate. Glenn Nardelli and the whole Pistils Landscape Design + Build crew were excellent. I would highly recommend this company and my wife and I plan to use them again in the future. They did a project for us last spring that included sod demo and re-grading of our yard in preparation for install of large modern raised steel retaining wall planter beds with custom architectural paver concrete steps. This was phase 1 of our two-phase backyard makeover. The design process was a fun collaboration and Glenn met with us on site multiple times to fine-tune the final plans before we broke ground. Glenn is personable, has excellent attention to detail, and really cared that the final project turned out exactly as we envisioned. The project went as planned, both time and budget. The crew was very professional and respectful of our home and neighbors. A year later, we still couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The steel retaining beds have such a clean, precise, modern look, yet the oxidized metal adds a rich, organic textural interest that makes our plants just “pop.” The end product was better than hoped for and we get tons of compliments. We’d like to take credit, but the credit truly goes to Pistils Landscape Design + Build. We look forward to our next project with you.

I had lived in my house for 14 years when I hired Holly Stickley of The White Pear to design my backyard. I had never worked with a designer before, so I had a lot of questions. Holly answered all of them as she walked me through the process. She and her team worked tirelessly in the demolition and construction phase, removing all the grass and creating beautiful berms and pathways. In addition to utilizing plants and materials that I already had, she introduced me to exciting new plants. The following year, The White Pear transformed my front yard. I love the serene Northwest/Asian atmosphere that The White Pear created!

We loved the design Jesse and Blessing Landscape did for us. We moved to a new house and had no yard. We worked with Jesse and came up with the most beautiful yard every. We could not be more pleased.

We (a team from our Board) hired Mr. Abbate and team to help us design a new Master Plan for our 90 year old, 55 acre, christian group camp in the mountains of Southern California. He and his team did a fabulous job. The end product was completed on time and on budget, and it met all of our very challenges set of demands. His team created a beautiful design that we are very proud of. Mike's work started with a very detailed process of understanding every inch of our facility and our uses and dreams for it. He helped us imagine how camp user needs might change over the years and how we could create a Master Plan that was better able to adapt. Because he has been a part of so many types of projects he had experiences that helped us to think, early in the design process, about potential challenges, that could have cost us dearly later in the project. I think one of Mike's greatest assets is his ability/passion to "hear" what his clients want and to turn those desires into a project that works well and looks great. We were thrilled that Mike's varied life, development and design experiences helped us improve our ideas vastly. You can imagine, that when a team is working on a project that they care about deeply, disagreements can arise. Mike's people skills often helped our team come to agreement when we might not have found our way. (We are all still very good friends thanks, in part, to Mike's wisdom during our project.) Mike always kept his commitments and was often gracious with us when we were having trouble keeping ours. Abbate Design did world class work for us and helped us ensure that what we built was going to be sustainable and healthy for our camp and our neighbors for a long time. We invested a lot in this project and I can't imagine partnering with anyone we could have trusted our mission to more Mike and his team. Forest Landscape, Inc

Forest Landscape is terrific. We contacted them for a bid on a fence and ended up hiring them to landscape and hardscape the entire backyard. They are fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. Most important to me, though, was that they gave their honest opinion about what aspects of our design would and would not work in our price range and given our particular needs. They are just really practical, really good guys.

We worked with Landscape East and West on a complete backyard remodel this past year. Our designer was Christin and we are very pleased with the final result. Christin did a great job finding out what our goals for our landscape were and collaboratively designing a covered and open patio area as well as green space. We have yet to see the full effect of the new plantings, but love the plants with winter interest that were suggested. We have also greatly appreciated Christin's responsiveness to questions and finalizing the project and the hard work of the team that did the implementation, who worked late several times to ensure that the project moved along. Thank you!

Because were new to gardening and landscape design when we hired Meadowsweet Gardens, we really needed someone who could figure out what we wanted even though we hardly knew ourselves. Glyness, the owner, was patient and friendly, asked all the right questions, and really wowed us with a finished looking garden that is full of native plants and Oregon beauty and was within our budget. We feel like we can call her any time for advice about upkeep and we highly recommend her.

If you're in the Portland area, then Micah Dennis is a genuine "local boy makes good" story. Started out as just a kid with a mower, and now runs one of the most respected landscape design firms in the area. His work is fabulous. Just beautiful, really. And what's more, unlike a lot of other artists, he actually runs a logistically-tight ship. If he or his crew is supposed to show up at 8 AM, he's there at 7:57 AM. Never over budget, often ahead of schedule. I love this guy!

It has been an absolute pleasure to have Ed and team work on our 1905 transitional Victorian! Moving into our charming, yet old house, we had a laundry list of items that needed to be fixed. Ed and team tackled all items systematically with quality and craftsmanship! Being an old house they overcame, with fine grace and ingenuity, all of the hurdles and quirks that came with it. Ed was especially delighted to work on one specific project of ours, which was enclosing our rear porch and and designing a catio for our cats. What really struck me was how much great pride Ed takes in his work. The overall result is a beautiful space where our cats can enjoy the fresh air while still being indoors. Ed has excellent communication and always asked for our preferences and when needing to make important decisions. We have more projects for next year and we will definitely be calling Fine Grain Construction to work on them. Highly recommended!
