“Great experience, high value, very reliable and best crew we ever worked with. Mayer’s construction did a home remodeling for us during the last 6 months. It has been a big home remodel for us that took design and build as well. After months spending finding the right company for us, we have choose to work with Mike & Nathan Mayer from Mayer’s construction. A week after finalizing contract we started working with Su & Luis both company’s architect and engineer. We worked on the new plans we agreed and wanted at first and started to have architect drawings ready, when we got into engineering process, both Mayer’s construction and us didn’t know we were suppose to redone so much of the existing footings and reinforce of additional walls as 20 years ago we did a 2nd story addition that was probably made poorly and unprofessional. They were extremely kind and helpful and kept the price as we agreed on and didn’t changed a thing. The plan process and measurements took about a month or so, and finally we were able to submit the plans to the city of San Jose. After getting the permits done and job card set ( overall 5 months of waiting / SJ is a pretty busy city) we got into work schedule and been ready to move out as the entire home going to be demolished. Mike was very organized both managing and scheduling the team, rough materials arrivals, and to us to be fully briefed with details and what we need and when. The process of work was great and on timeline , city did changed a lot during this time period with their inspection delays but it didn’t interrupt with our schedule or timeline due to great management ahead. We just finished our work and we absolutely in love with our new home! New flooring throughout, new kitchen, new bathrooms, complete open floor plan, new stair case, new rooms reconfigured, new paint, new texture, new windows and sliding doors throughout, all new plumbing and electrical. A brand new and beautiful home we got thanks to Mayer’s construction and the team, Mike, Nathan, Raul, Jose and many more who had a added value and did this work absolute best.”

Out of the three quotes we received, Lance Smith not only provided us with a detailed quote very quickly, he was the only individual we met with who followed up with us by telephone to discuss his quote. He had clear communication and set expectations to me as the homeowner and made sure his crew followed the same protocols. He would be able to see issues with the plans before they were out of hand and was able to make sure they were resolved. His huge network within the industry helped if we ever needed something quickly. Since the completion of the project I have continued to use his services. A recent example is that I had solar installed recently and there was an issue with the electrical that the solar installers thought was on our end. He was out there that day to show that it was indeed not an issue on our end but something that was messed up by the solar install and had them take care of the issue.”

“Michael Chau from MSJ Construction is our general contractor. We are in the foundation stage of our new construction project in Palo Alto, CA. Michael submitted a detailed, competitive bid and had solid references. We loved his prior experience as a builder for his own state of the art mixed-use property and his contemporary design sensibilities. Most importantly, Michael was prompt in communication and easy to interact with. Those were reasons why we signed him for our project. He attends seminars on new building technologies and is open to constant learning. He is also flexible and willing to try new materials and methods to help us realize our architect's and our vision. For e.g. Michael is currently looking for ways to support us on our desire to use the Tesla solar-roof for our project, despite the uncertainty surrounding its first availability. He is creatively thinking ahead to provide schedule flexibility for the Tesla solar-roof via an economical interim roofing option so other project tasks won't be held-up due to lack of weatherproofing. “We found Rory when we decided to do some remodeling to our kitchen / living room and deck area of our San Francisco home. We put requests for quotes out to three contractors. Rory was the only one to respond quickly. When we met him we immediately felt comfortable with him. We described the work we wanted done and he made additional recommendations and helped us determine best solutions for things we were unsure how to accomplish. His quote was spot on without us even letting him know what our target budget was for the project. We had no reservations going with him without even looking at other contractors (which it turns out was good since the other contractors took months to get back to us!).
