Update: We are about to start out long planned kitchen renovation (what started as a new build but life would have it otherwise) tomorrow. The budget is C$150K including custom lacquered frameless cabinetry from a local cabinetmaker, floors in 7" oiled oak, Miele appliances, Axor/Blanco plumbing fixtures, Cambria countertops and pot lights + pendants. Yes, we could have saved by choosing lower end appliances, lesser grade solid surface/stone counters etc but cabinetry and labour for everything appears to be almost a fixed cost for us. We'll get our dream kitchen but had to settle for increasing the budget by 30% and that is not affected by the cabinet cost ($30K). The big compromise for me was not getting the cabinets with framed inset doors/drawers but we needed to draw the line somewhere. Can't wait for the end reveal!

Alecsellars, your cost does appear very low for what you described. Maybe the spaces are small? Miele does sell a complete compact kitchen for under $10K but when we looked, appliances alone could not come at the price of your entire budget (ours cost $50K). As Shylo said, high end means different things for different people.
