“My husband and I were very happy with James' work for us which included architectural work for our master bedroom and bathroom and our kitchen. Our Oak Park home is a 1906 gem and we wanted to keep the integrity of detail yet become more livable. Both projects included moving walls; designing wooden details--windows to cabinets--that reflected detail in the rest of the house; placing weight-bearing beams to support ceilings and roof; redesigning stairs to basement and back yard, etc. Vanderheyden is a good listener and a solid architect/designer. He worked well with both our contractor and kitchen designer to improve and carry out our designs. We give him 5 stars. Linda and John Hillman”

“Omar was recommended to me from JAR Corp. He was a delight to work with on this project. He was able to come up with Ideas that I would have never dreamed of by myself. Without Omar my project would have not been the same. He looked at wasted space and turned it into a walk-in linen closet. Everytime I open the door to the closet I say "Thank you Omar!" I would highly recommend Omar whenever an Architect is required. He will really bring your project to life.”

“After a phone call, Tom agreed to visit me and discuss the renovation of my condo. On-site, I found him both open to my ideas and replete with information that made sense for alternatives to my initial thoughts. I contracted him then and there to prepare my drawings and his turnaround was quick; within two weeks I saw my dreams on paper. He then shepherded my plans through the village and around the bureaucratic red-tape in short order. I highly recommend his services!”

“We have a small house in Riverside. It is about 1,000 sf. It is a split level modern house built in the 1950's. We wanted an open plan concept with a cathedral ceiling. We removed wall to new ceiling, creating an upstairs loft. The project was completed in 2001.We have lived in it for 11 years! We love the plan and the cathedral ceiling 16' high. Our room is now open 20'x24', with new skylights above the living room. Arlene was a terrific help. We got our plans on time during the design phase, and got our permits without any new work or any changes to our design. We have enjoyed our redesigned home for the past 11 years and would definitely recommend Arlene to our friends! ”
