He walk through all the paperwork and time needed to get all the permits which allowed me time to take care of the family and talk about the new look. The project is still under construction, but I know my family and I will be happy with what we both (myself and Nong) envisioned.”

“Dave Ruffin was hired as a designer and architect to redesign our one of a kind unique house and add another 1000 sq f to the building. The project was challenging because of the location of the house on a slop. Previously I already fired two other architect companies, as they could not get what I needed. They either did not listen or did not understand my needs/vision. Then I found Dave. We spent few meeting where he allowed me to talk anything I wanted. He was making notes only. He told me that he'll need few days after our meetings to come up with a design. On our next meeting the basic design was done. There was nothing for me to change or modify. It was simply beautiful. Dave was hired full time with enthusiasm on my side - I finally found someone who is willing to listen, understand, convert crazy ideas into blueprints, and take care of the project implementation. He not only did a fantastic job of the new addition design, architect, engineering and construction, but also completely redesigned existing structure. His vision changed my mind. HIs ability to work with different clients is amazing. I'm one of very difficult customers to deal with because I'm a perfectionist and demand only the best. After all documentation was agreed and signed off, he completely covered the task of getting city permits (we had more than one including 120 feet long 6 feet tall retaining wall). It was a pleasant experience for me. I did read about a lot of issues related to getting a construction permit with the city and was prepared to worse. It went really well. Simultaneously, Dave helped to pick up a construction company for the project. He interviewed several and helped to pick a right one. And... he was hired as a project manager and acceptance engineer for our project. He also handled all communications with the city inspectors and managed general and subcontractors on the daily bases. What was expected to be a very difficult project to finish, turned out to be a great experience for me working with engineers and contractors. There were few situations where I was unhappy with some of sub-contractors performance/quality. Dave was in place to solve them gracefully in a very professional manner. Overall, Dave handled the project all the way from discussing the new design to the last city signature. I already recommended Dave to few of my friends who want to change their properties looking at what was done to our house. And... I would highly recommend him to anybody who needs an open-minded, intelligent, polite (at the same time strong) and very professional designer/architect/engineer.”
