“Stearns designed and built a house, shop, and an open pole barn for my wife and I. All interactions and communications were professional and accurate. The design process was excellent with a view toward the best functionality and value. There were many opportunities to discuss pros and cons of various layouts and materials of construction. The process included selections for everything in the house and there were no (none) surprises at the end where basic things like light fixtures turned out to be "not included". The build process included weekly status communications and clear communication around changes--no doing something and then an unexpected cost adder. All change costs were dealt with up front in a professional way. It became clear to my wife and I that Stearns intended to deliver everything under the contract in a complete and quality fashion. There were some issues at the end concerning consistent operation of the automatic gate to the property. It took several months but this was dealt with to our complete satisfaction. At the close of our home contract, we asked Stearns to build a small floating dock on our pond, which they did for a very reasonable price. We are more than satisfied with the work by Stearns and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.”
