“I have known Martin in a professional capacity since 2001. We initially worked as colleagues at two different mid-size architectural firms over a 2 year period. Martin first came to my attention as a highly skilled Drafting Consultant who was working on some of the more complex projects in the firm. When I moved on to a different company and was asked to recruit new talent, the first person I thought of was Martin. Martin eventually came on board at the new firm and carried a significant project load from day one, allowing his new employer the luxury and financial windfall of billing out a very large and complex luxury multi-family housing project with a modicum of actual manpower. After I founded my own firm, I again recruited Martin when I needed help to complete my own multi-family housing project on a very tight timeline. I gave Martin one of the most challenging technical tasks, that of cutting wall and building sections through this five story building. Martin rose to the challenge and delivered accurate, technically sound work on time and on budget. I knew from past experience that I could count on Martin and he did not let me down. It has been wonderful watching Martin grow his architecture firm into a highly-sought after practice. Martin's attention to detail and craftsmanship shows in all of his projects. His background as a Danish carpenter with many years of architectural practice gives Martin a unique design perspective that other architects simply do not have. “Mike and his team did an outstanding job on three rooms in my home!! Kitchen, dining room and mud room. Mike's attention to the smallest detail along with fine craftsmanship were apparent in every aspect of the job. From painting, inlaying a tile floor, putting in cabinetry, to restructuring walls, all applications were perfectly installed and created . The cleaning up each and every day was amazing. He cleaned up better than when I left it and I never had to worry about breathing dust and wood particles as well as not being able to track materials back into other living spaces as areas were cleverly sectioned off, or protected. He got there on time each and every morning to work. He was conscientious and honest about my budget and took my money concerns seriously and proactively. He communicated with me if there was anything else taking precedence over my job and arranged times to continue and stick to the timeline. If you're are a stickler for perfection and want someone who has the pride to create your vision, MK Design is the company to call. I would highly recommend his work for any home remodeling job. You won't be disappointed.”

“We reached out to HomeWise for an estimate to finish our basement. From our first conversation, Josh was professional, personable, and very easy to work with. He provided us with several design options to show us what was possible with our space, and stuck within our budget. Once we settled on a final design, Josh was very quick to get started. He did his best to keep things moving throughout the remodel (especially given labor and material shortages due to Covid). He literally put his blood, sweat, and maybe a few tears(?) into this project. Josh always kept our design choices in mind, and added in several unique custom elements that really gave our basement a unique look and made it a highly-functional space (columns, built in shelving, closets, etc.)! Josh is very talented and we will definitely have him work on projects of ours in the future!”

“Hurst has done two remodels for us. The first was in 2006 and included a complete kitchen remodel including granite countertops, wood floors and all upscale appliances. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was taken out and the dining room was made twice the original size with an addition that included changing the roof line, new beams, tray ceiling with lighted crown molding and bay window with bench seat including storage. The wood floors continued from the kitchen. A bedroom was added on the lower level under the dining room addition. We were and are very happy with the work and especially the workmanship. The attention to detail on the part of all the workman meant the finished dining room addition and kitchen are beautiful to look at and functional and fun to use. Our second project with Hurst was in 2008 when we updated all the bathrooms with beautiful granite, tile, new sinks, faucets and hardware. The shower was torn out completely and rebuilt as a walk-in shower which we love. Grab bars and a perfect shower floor for safety are wonderful and the plumber located the shower controls so that you don't have to step in to the shower to turn it on. Again, we appreciated the leader of the project and all the attention to detail. The young plumber was fantastic! Hurst has done several small outside jobs for us including pouring new entryway steps and adding railings. We are just ready to put our home on the market as we are moving West to be closer to all our grandchildren. We will miss all these wonderful improvements but know they will really add value to our home and make it desireable in the "sea of homes" on the market! We have recommended Hurst to our friends and recently saw a kitchen granite countertop job that our friends are very pleased with and it looks fantastic. We would recommend Hurst for your buiding, designing, and remodeling needs. Sue and Herb Hausmann, Westlake, OH”
