“We moved to Wisconsin after a 37 year absence. We decided to reinforce our basement walls and then eventually add an all seasons addition to our living room area. Basten's construction did the work on both endeavors. We could not be more pleased. Work was methodical and they always kept us informed. Our addition of an all reasons room looks like something our of a magazine. They even put in sky lights in the ceiling of the living room so we could get maximum light. Highly recommended.”

You will not find better! His design, overseeing of building process to make sure everything is done to perfection, materials that are top quality, and you get into your home when promised! His eye for design is incredible; he has one-of-a-kind touches, textures and character, that make a home unique, elegant and at the same time warm and welcoming. I cannot recommend him more highly! Unusual to find someone so driven to perfection, with personality that is a pure delight to work with. His knowledge and passion is unmatched. If you trust him with your vision, he makes an even better dream come true. This is the fourth home we have built, (the first with Mitch) and no one comes close to his giftedness, expertise, attention to detail and results. “Chad designed my house to fit the site, resulting in a structure which appears to have risen from the surrounding prairie. My wish was for a small (by current standards) house of 1700 sf, which I have discovered is still more than I really need, thanks to Chad's ability to design an exquisitely simple floor plan that charms one's senses by continually revealing wonderful views; either of nature or an exceptional architectural element. Feng shui principles used in the design contribute to a feeling of peace and harmony. A pivoting bookshelf in lieu of a door provides privacy in the office when necessary. Pivoting doors in other areas allow the ceiling to flow, uninterrupted by traditional doorway framing. These features typify Cantilever's philosophy of creating beautiful and functional spaces. Cantilever's expertise is also evident in the renovation/remodel projects they have completed.”

“We first worked with Steve on a basement project in 2005. It turned out very well. We contacted him again in 2009 to rebuild a 1929 cottage which we received many compliments on how well we utilize the space and incorporated/recycled material. Recently (March, 2014) we contacted Steve to update our 12 year - old kitchen with limited budget. Steve catered to our needs by listening well. Steve is very knowledgable in every aspect of building and designing. Steve has a very good reputation among contractors he works with. It was easy to tell from their demeanor when we met to discuss the project on hand. We definitely highly recommend Steve's service to anyone who needs someone who is trustworthy and with your best interest in mind.”
