“Ted Collins has landscaped 3 properties for us. Our current home has been a 10 year project where they have converted a field of weeds and rocks to a parkland setting unrivalled by most! Trees, shrubs, flowering plants that bloom just at the right time of year with complimentary colors that even Mother Nature cannot quite get right. Stone and paver walkways, iron gates, iron birdfeeder, a waterfeature, along with a gorgeous transition from a 3 tier paver patio to a roofed porch provides space for all who want to sit in shade, sun...near water and the birds, or just in the middle of it all and enjoy all the sensory experiences Ted Collins has created.. They even put in an aroma therapy garden - amazing. In the evening the lanscape lighting turns our yard into a twilight wonder!! The designers and the work crews demonstrated higtened expertise. They listened so well, checked in with me constantly, and asked time and time again if they had translated my wishes into my reality over the 10 year project. If ever anything did not work out as I had hoped, the flexibility and consideration we were shown was beyond measure. When people come to our house, the yard is the main focus. For our prior two homes landscaped and maintained by Ted Collins, the curb appeal was a big driver in getting our price when we sold them. Ted Collins is the only company I allow to "touch" my yard - they built it and they maintain it...this is what I tell those who compliment our yard.”

“We have to take a moment and brag about how awesome Hunter Springs Landscape Company is. Design and follow through on detail is the best we have ever experienced from a contractor we have dealt with. We have had 3 significant projects done with HSLC. Backyard drainage in 2010, our yard is on a hill and we could not walk in the backyard until June until their team put in the drainage. There were no water issues after that project inside or outside the house. The back patio and front walkways in 2013, we had 30+ year old walkways up front and no living space in the backyard. Now we have a wonderful patio to entertain plenty of guests. BUT, those projects do not hold a candle to the complicated project of this year (2015) of putting a pool and 1600ft of patio living space into the side of a 16ft elevated hill with natural springs reeking havoc during the 3rd rainiest June on record. HSLC did it and they did it to perfection because I have a feeling that is all the owner and project managers will accept from their work. We had an outdated above ground pool at the top of our yard. In 2014 we brought the idea of putting in an in ground pool to Scott Schaal. Scott and Lisa came out and measured and listened to what we wanted from a space that would be 40feet away from the house. They came back to us a few weeks later with a computer design developed by Lisa at HSLC that simply took our breath away. Once HSLC came onsite and started their work we learned how Scott Schaal trained his people. We got to see EJ Smith everyday on the project and his professionalism was first class. EJ listened, he asked our opinion and his follow through was exceptional. The pace of the project moved as well as it could with all the rain we had in the spring of 2015. The project was close to completion by the end of June; within the timeline EJ and Scott said it would be. Then the evening of June 30th happened and we had 3 inches of rain in less than 2 hours. It was a catastrophic loss! The final touch that seals the pavers together (poly sand) had not been installed because we needed a few days of completely dry weather. There was a mudslide (remember, this pool went into the side of a hill) that poured over the pavers and ruined their work. I sent Scott pictures that evening and the next morning there were no less than 7 team members here to assess the situation. It was so bad I couldn’t tell my wife. Without complaint Scott Schaal, EJ and Scott “Fitz” assured us that this will be handled and handled it they did. They tore up ¾ of the pavers they laid down because once mud got into the cracks they had to start over. They tore up the pavers, rinsed them, pulled up all the aggregate to be sure there was no organic material left behind from the mudslide. My wife, Jennie, and I were amazed at how there was no complaining, nobody liked it but we all knew this would be good conversation for the future. We cannot say enough about this company. We walk out of our home and look into a beautiful oasis held together by beautiful natural boulders. We relax beside a private pool surrounded by the perfect mix of plants and trees. And the lighting! We cannot say enough about how perfect the nightscape is. I can’t believe we were going to hold off on the lighting. It is truly the cherry on top of this project. Jennie and I have been to a number of resorts around the world and we feel like we have one of those first class pools in our own backyard. It would be nice if a drink service that came along with the designs. Hunter Springs has got to be one of the top landscape design companies in all of CNY and we know HSLC will be the only choice for our outdoor projects.
