Bellingham Bay Builders
ADU Contractors in Nooksack
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJuly 18, 2013
“Bellingham Bay Builders was an awesome firm to work with. Ross Grier and Jeff Mack were a pleasure to work with, and I couldn't recommend BBB more highly. Jeff Mack was the lead on the remodel of my kitchen and two bathrooms. His careful planning, attention to detail and decency made him a pleasure to work with. At each step along the way, Jeff patiently explained each of my options, and I often relied on his valuable design sense. I trusted him completely and valued his advice. All of Jeff's work was beautifully done and I couldn't be happier with the finished remodel.”

“I highly recommend Jennifer Ryan Design. She has fantastic ideas and design sense and also listens well and manages projects with integrity, efficiency and great skill. She has currently designed and completed a new media room, Lego room, office nook and bathroom. We are now planning with her for the laundry, garage, game room and upstairs deck which will be phase two of our project.”

“I am a retired Interior Designer and wanted to work with an architect who was up on the latest improvements in HVAC and plumbing. I had a pretty clear idea of the layout of our new house but needed help deciding on a contractor to hire as well as some creative structural details to make our 1800 sq. ft. single level home work for us as we age without looking like an "old folks home". Haven Design was instrumental in helping us select a contractor and we have been very pleased with the results.”

Bigfoot Builders, LLC

“If you want to work with professionals who do what they promise, and do it well, these are your guys. We purchased a beautiful home on Guemes Island, off the mainland of Washington state. The house has lots of character and many custom elements, including wood trim from native trees. As such, we needed to find a contractor who respected and appreciated the craftsmanship and who would make an extra effort to retain the high quality and look. Our first major project was to transform a tiny powder room into a 3-piece bath with shower. After interviewing several contractors, we decided to go with Cameron and Bigfoot Builders. He was extremely detailed in his project scope and pricing. He was also the only one with an online website which was customized for our project and where we could check on timeline, progress, change orders, etc. Working with Cameron was very easy. He took 360 degree photos and translated them into a diagram that showed the amount of space we had and what could be done with it. Since we had a large closet on the other side of the wall with the sink, he proposed that we utilize some of that space for the shower, while keeping the remainder of the space as a very usable clothes closet with shelves. Timing was a bit delayed, but not due to their work. Being on an island has its challenges and the ferry accessing Guemes was out for 6 weeks so, by the time we could actually get started, it was well into peak season and we had to work with each subcontractor (electrician, plumber, tile, etc) as they became available. Cameron was really good at communicating dates of availability and trying to move things up when he could. Each of the subs did exceptional work, so no complaints there. Cameron worked with us with the colors and materials and offered valuable input. The result is very functional and high quality, maintaining the craftsmanship and look of the rest of the house. The materials allowance included in the estimate was generous, unlike many contractors who try to keep those costs minimal. Cameron understood what the desired final look would be and was able to procure high quality materials. He even had an extra tall custom shower door built rather than a standard off the shelf door so the look would be more cohesive. The shower door will be installed today and I am looking forward to the final, finished look. The bath is situated between a bedroom and media room and really looks like it is an ensuite to the bedroom. It does not look like an add-on. I can't say enough about the high quality work that the Bigfoot team does. Kyle, who was working hard the whole project, did exceptional work, even according to the other subs. He framed out the shower stall perfectly, so perfectly that the man who came to take the shower door measurements had to take them three times because he could not believe how perfectly the job was done. He told me that "they could have just sent me the measurements and saved me a ferry ride". The entire Bigfoot team is a pleasure to work with. Everyone is pleasant, respectful, and eager to please. This is such a welcome departure from other contractors that I have worked with. Even smaller, miscellaneous tasks like a sliding door lock (which my husband mangled) were done with cheerfulness and attention to detail. This company has upped the bar for their competition. I will be doing other projects with them.”

“We met with Bryan and took him our ideas and design sketches of our future Craftsman home. After several meetings and modifications, he was able to transform them into formal plans that satisfied the City of Blaine and Semiahmoo Association. The home is now in the process of being built, and Bryan has been available as a resource. He has been very accommodating and easy to work with, along with providing a wealth of information and experience.”

Sprucehill Custom Homes & Renovations
ADU Contractors in Nooksack
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 4, 2015
“Sprucehill Contracting project managed a major renovation for us in North Vancouver, which included an addition to the second level of the home, and a complete gut-and-rebuild of the interior space. In addition to the routine challenges faced in any renovation, the job had the additional challenge of being subject to work on a streamside protected property in the District of North Vancouver (the house literally sits over a creek). Any time we ran into a challenge with sourcing materials, working within our budget or working within the strict streamside bylaws, we felt that this team had our back and our best interests at heart. We were very well informed, and well listened to every step of the way. Erik and the Sprucehill team were able to navigate through the bylaws and restrictions within the DNV, work seamlessly with our designer and build our dream home, both on time and on budget. In the end, we couldn't be happier with the team and the results. Would HIGHLY recommend this team to anyone looking to do a small renovation to a complete build from the ground up.”
