“We worked with West Standard to build our home in the Wash Park neighborhood in Denver in 2009 and 2010. Although my wife and I had some experience in renovation and design, the thought building a home from scratch was daunting and overwhelming. However, from our very first meeting, the team at W.S. reassured us they'd help us at every turn and guide us through the entire process. It was obvious that the team had years of experience in all aspects of a home build - from architectural design, to G.C. capabilities as well as interior design - as a result of this, as well as how easily we clicked, we knew we had found the right group to jump into building our home with. The process to hone in on exactly what we wanted and then accept the reality of budget constraints was lengthy and at times frustrating, but the W.S. team time and time again found ways to satisfy our needs while keeping costs down. We faced issues such as high water tables, square footage constraints due to lot size, material price fluctuations that threatened to skyrocket costs, and yet, W.S. came up with solutions that kept us on schedule and budget at every turn. My wife and I actually loved the home building process but I'm not sure if I would have felt that same way if I'd used another company - the team at West Standard was the difference maker in what certainly can be a frustrating and stressful endeavor. In fact, our home build was selected to be a part of a reality t.v. show that focused on new house construction - as taping went on, the producers became frustrated that there wasn't more drama or big problems for "excitement"! While we definitely faced numerous challenges throughout the process, the professionalism, expertise and creativity of the W.S. group kept us moving forward without ever needing to hit the panic button. My wife and I made the tough call of selling the home after 3 years due to our growing family and we needed more room and outdoor space. But the house we built with with West Standard will always be my favorite not just because of how well it was constructed or how amazing the end product was to live in, but also for the memories I have of pulling it all together with the team at West Standard.”
