“Kent helped remodel our tired, outdated bathrooms. His design sense and building knowledge really helped deal with things when they got tough. Doing a remodel, you find out that things are not always perfect under the surface. Surprisingly things were not all square and neat like i expected. Kent handled everything easily and things came out beautifully. We would highly recommend calling Murnen Design if you need to give a new look to a worn out space.”

“CJ's been an absolute delight I entered into building a house with a lot of trepidation, but CJ Hoogland has made the process rewarding and fun. We've just completed the design development stage and I've never felt anything but excitement when going to his office or meeting him on our land. He listens attentively to our poorly articulated ideas and translates them into elegant designs that strike a balance between our ideas and the refinement that you want when you hire an architect. I am opinionated and picky, and we have revisited so many things so many times, but there has never been a hint of impatience from CJ. CJ is well-connected with builders and hooked us up with such high caliber general contractors that we had difficulty choosing. Being newcomers to the area, we would have had difficulty finding them on our own. CJ's colleague, Kevin Ward, is always an enthusiastic contributor to our meetings as well. In summary, I unhesitatingly recommend Hoogland Architecture to anyone looking for an architect.”

My wife wanted someone who would hear want she was asking for and work with her. Too many times when remodeling our other home people would listen but not hear her. “We worked with Michael on our personal custom residence. We had heard stories of architects really pushing what they want and not taking the budget into consideration or the wants/needs of their clients. This wasn't our experience at all. I must say my wife and I are extremely particular. We had input on every inch of the design. Michael had a lot of patience with us! Michael truly looks at every aspect of the design before incorporating suggestions. Any changes we wanted to make, Michael would make sure to show us ALL the consequences of these changes. I believe this was crucial to preventing us from having costly change orders during construction phase. I've worked with other designers and showed them multiple pictures of the design style I wanted and they just didn't get it. When Michael unveiled our house at the 3-D mock up meeting, we were blown away. He truly nailed it! Michael is an excellent architect and we truly enjoyed working with him.”
