“My wife and I lack the 'vision' needed to see the potential of an open space. A Google search led us to Pittsburgh Design and Remodeling, and we reached out to inquire about their basement design services. The design agreement consisted of an initial phone consultation, several 3D renderings (which were updated based on our feedback), and ultimately a neatly packaged pdf file with all of the information. Jeff (the owner) asked all the right questions to get the conversation started and paid close attention to our responses. He presented some interesting ideas that we otherwise would not have come up with. He is friendly, professional, and did exactly what we contracted him to do. We would highly recommend his design services. I should add that our agreement was for design services only. No actual work was performed on the basement so I cannot comment on that part of the business.”

“Prime 1 was the contractor for our 800 square foot addition. They worked closely with us and with our architect to design an addition that met our needs and fulfilled the vision we had in mind. One of our concerns was that the addition should match the period detail of the existing house, and they took every measure to ensure that such was the case. Our foreman was great. You would think he was building the project for himself, because he paid so much attention to every detail. He was always willing to work with us to make changes and listen to our concerns at every stage of the process. The crew was very conscientious and made every effort to minimize the disruption to our daily routine. Space was tight for delivery and staging of materials, but they managed to work within those limitations with little problem. Prime 1 was also willing to let us take on as much of the project as we wanted to do, and they worked with us at great length to keep within our budget. They inspired confidence in us, offering sound advice from experience, and making the venture an enjoyable experience. The finished product is beautiful, and it has been a pleasure to use our new space.”

“We used Action Builders for a two-story addition to our ranch home, adding a kitchen/great room, with two bedrooms, a bath and mud room on the lower level. They were very responsive and creative, making it possible for us to proceed with the addition without the benefit of an outside architect. Once they got started, they miraculously finished within one week of their estimated time frame. During the entire construction process, which included Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, there were only two or three days when the crew were not on the job site The addition is terrific and we are pleased to allow other potential clients to visit and see our finished product.”

“We waited 5 years but when we finally got it done, it turned out to be the perfect choice and right decision to go with Tischendorf Contractor Services. It was easy to make up our minds after our first meeting with Todd. The whole project was managed and executed well in the planned time frame of 6 weeks. We could see progress every day, no time was lost and everything came together beautifully at the end of the stipulated time. Work was clean, professional and every small thing we pointed out was done for us. Now we have this lovely bright space we love to use for cooking, eating and entertaining. “We hired Johnston Remodeling to demolish the kitchen addition to our pre-1870 farmhouse, rebuild the kitchen addition (along with a storage room and a mudroom), install new vinyl siding on the entire home, install replacement windows throughout the entire house, and install a rock façade on a portion of the exterior of the home. Johnston Remodeling did an excellent job on all aspects of the demolition and construction, worked great with us and other subcontractors and suppliers, and above all, they were mindful of the age of the home and helped us maintain an old farmhouse feel despite all the upgrades. They were also great at listening to our concerns and meeting the needs of our lifestyle, so the house now fits us better than ever. They communicated frequently and openly about cost and stayed on budget throughout the entire project. And they were on task the entire time, completing the project before we thought they would. We never felt like we were second to any other project. I highly recommend Johnston Remodeling.”

“I hired Connor to replace a walk-out basement door. He took me from step one through to a finished product, and it was a fantastic experience. He recommended materials, custom cut the door, installed locks, new framing, and weatherstripping. The door hangs perfectly, is well-insulated, and I am overall pleased as punch with the project. Connor is a very pleasant person to work with, and I highly recommend him for projects of any scale. I will definitely be contacting him for future work.”

“John made 4 pieces of furniture for us. All were custom builds. An end table, coffee table and custom table for our second home, and a coffee table made from old timbers for our primary home. In every case, John listened to what we had in mind, added his own creativity and exceeded our expectations. The coffee table in our primary home is the show piece of our living room...just beautiful! He also did everything right on schedule. Could not give a higher recommendation for John!”

“About twenty years ago, Donna decorated a sun room for my mother. She did a marvelous job of designing a space that was peaceful and calm and brought many hours of enjoyment for my mom. The most outstanding component of the room are the beautifully hand painted faux finished walls. This year, when I began some renovations on a 200 year old stone farmhouse, I went to Donna for help with colors and determining flooring. I look forward to her continued help with this project. Donna has vast experience and her guidance has made a great positive impact on my endeavors. I appreciate that she was willing to help with even small projects. I highly recommend her.”
